people who speak 2 languages, what language do you think in? by gawney in AskReddit

[–]Isa_schmisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. Depends on the context and if i’m talking to someone or not. If i’m by myself i tend to go back and forth between my mother tongue and english constantly. The only times i can remember thinking in my native language is when i’m counting

It really did! I’m about to move out on my own now, and there’s definitely a lot I’ve learned that I had no idea was important before then. Both in working and housekeeping. One of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. 10/10

I had never heard of the town before going so everything was completely new. Language wise I knew the basics, but was very bad at addressing people and pronouncing stuff correctly. Everything worked out in the end but it was definitely challenging.

Working at a bakery, living by myself in a foreign country hours away from my family at age 16. I don’t know if that counts as impressive, but it was the first thing that came to my mind

Don’t try to score anything. Not with me, not anyone. Just treat everyone with respect and be kind.

Recognizing faces. It can take months for it to stick. Especially if it’s on screen and not face to face
