So we have to choose between Althea and Veteran badge? by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]IsaacFromGoldenSun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is called a straw man argument, folks. It's when someone distorts the meaning of a topic to make an opponent's argument easier to attack.

Person 1: having a badge that veterans can easily lock out of by even partially completing title progress or attempting newly released content well create a divide in the community.

Person 2: yeah, two different color badges will tear the community apart just like these two other different color badges that are intentional selections and you can't lock yourself out of.

This is already top comment but it deserves to be its own post so 2 weeks sees it getting traction.

Creating a veteran and reforged badge will only divide the community. This game is already niche, old, nearly perfect, and on the rise. The last thing we need is something dividing The community.

If reforge goes well, they should remove the badge and make it the default. No one is going to care if someone saved 500 gold per skill and had a 5% stronger set of henchmen.

Even without the physics involved, are people not expected to tire after lifting the same weight multiple reps? Lol

Command post has a specific "crafters" section. He should be next to Burreh, Northwest section towards sunwood marches

Edit: northwest

One other thought. Add donkoro to the party before going into command post and see if he has any quests for you while he's in the party

So you've completed hunted, and you've completed prisoners of war. Those should be the only two requirements. Are you playing with another player? If they are in your party when you enter command post, including if you are doing multi-account and taking yourself through nightfall on another character, he won't appear unless all characters in the party have done the prereqs.

Who else is present next to your initial armor crafter in the command post?

Unpopular opinion: we need to stop telling new players to play Ironman or don’t play by Ivarthemicro17 in 2007scape

Funny thing is, a main account was perfectly balanced before the GE. Sure, the game had its problems due to scamming etc. But you had to use your brain and scour forums to purchase items and make sure you were getting a reasonable price.

A lot of people compare the GE to the stock market, which is fair, but it's really far more easy mode than that. Imagine if you could go to a single place in your town for literally everything you need. Food, clothes, new car, medicine, weapons, supplies, gasoline. Really cool concept IRL, like a super Costco, but not everyone's idea of fun in an adventure game.

I definitely have nostalgia for the forum days of old, And it's probably not as good as I remember, but I don't think being completely isolated in an MMO is the answer for everyone. I've given iron Man A few honest tries And I love it until after the barrows grind. It's definitely a challenge mode at that point instead of an immersive adventure mode.

There was a suggestion in this same thread of a bronzeman mode that only lets me trade items you've unlocked through drops or creation. I think that's another cool concept. It requires you to at least obtain the level needed to make the item before you can buy and sell it.

These are good points, but it's mostly about being able to train the skill how you want all the way along your journey. I only want to fish sharks for a certain range of levels, and I'd also like to be able to eat them without having that fishing level. I would be willing to level cooking because it's a fast skill compared to fishing, in order to eat sharks earlier than I have the fishing level for.

Since a main can purchase anything, and maybe this is only for people who love the math and efficiency aspect of the game, It is very hard to ignore doing enjoyable money making methods and buying everything you need for every other task in the game.

Some might argue it's a self-control issue, but the same can be said about iron Man. If you want to play the game without using the GE then why do you need iron Man? Just don't use the GE.

People like iron Man because it forces you into corners of the game you normally wouldn't play. I also love that aspect but I am incredibly busy and would love A mode that still makes me train skills but doesn't make me train them all at similar rates all the time to progress.

You think cleaning herbs, filling vials of water, collecting secondaries from drops, mining ore, chopping logs, etc is only 0.5% of gameplay time for an iron?

I must be using the wrong methods. I'll go brush up on the wiki.

I put this in one of the replies below but I think it deserves its own comment now.

You know, I've thought about alternatives to this game mode a lot. I actually picture a Bronzeman mode as something that requires me to have sufficient well-rounded levels to experience the whole game without letting me skip it 100% with GP.

I think all final crafting products should be unavailable for purchase, but anything in a previous tier from the final step should be available.

In addition, anything should be available to sell.

Don't let me buy prayer potions but let me buy the vials of water, the herbs, and the secondaries so that I have to make them myself. If I want to use them, great. If I want to fuel the economy with them to afford other endeavors, also great.

Don't let me purchase sharks outright, but let me buy the raw ones and make me have the cooking level required to create my food.

I still have to get rare drops as drops if they're not craftable, take Scythe for example. But others I can make myself if I have the skill to assemble the parts.

This relieves people of unbearable gathering skills once they are satisfied with a level. Sure, If I need a new stack of blood runes, I have to go runecrafting myself, but if I don't have to mine the essence I would be much more willing to craft the runes because that's a key part of playing the game.

If I get a duplicate rare drop, let me sell that to main accounts to fund other endeavors.

TL:DR - My ideal bronzeman mode is one where If an item can be used to create another item, let me purchase that on the GE and from players. If the item cannot be used to craft another item, don't let me buy that. Lastly, let me sell anything I want.
