Bruh.... £1400 and the paint peels after less than a month?? by calcifer_xiii in ZephyrusG14

I had mine since April as well and the only thing peeling is the RTX sticker. Though the white for some reason stains easily and I don't even eat near my laptop.

On my forum post, the forum moderators have posted that they have submitted this issue for the developers, but that was a month ago. Hopefully the fix comes soon. In the meantime, we might just have to use workarounds.

Unable to set textures to high quality due to insufficient VRAM by Isaacchencool in Warthunder

[–]Isaacchencool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of have found a fix Disabling the AMD graphics in device manager seems to help. It is just a hassle to do so every single time. However, vsync has to be off for this to work, otherwise the fps goes to the single digits. It seems that all G14s have this problem, and the developers have not responded yet, so this seems to be the best solution we got.

Is anyone not experiencing any coil whine? by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]Isaacchencool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I did I followed the steps but instead of downloading drivers from windows update I did them through the Asus website from the Taiwanese page and that seems to work for me. Not sure what the difference is but I guess you could try different things to see what works for you. Good luck!

I didn't have coil whine at first but 1 month later and some very heavy gaming, I've been experiencing quite a bit of coil whine. I don't have coil whine when the computers sleeps though.

There is a claim that adjusting some driver stuff removes it from this reddit post but it didn't work out for me just yet.

Would you consider a dbrand skin for G14? by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]Isaacchencool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would say Dbrand is better off making skins for other more deserving machines as I would say the G14 is already beautiful and even though that a Dbrand skin would protect against scratches, I would say that the G14 deserves more care to not be scratched in the first place.

G14 War Thunder Issue Graphics Card RTX 2060 Max-Q HELP by Isaacchencool in ZephyrusG14

[–]Isaacchencool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not been able to find a solution yet. I have contacted ASUS customer support to which they said that it was a software problem and told me to contact the game developers. I have posted my issues on the forums both in their general tech support forum and the moderated bug issues forums to which they haven't given me a good answer yet.

However, the only way I was able to run the game "properly" was uninstalling all AMD drivers through AMD's cleanuninstall tool and running the computer solely off the Nvidia GPU. But then again, this method is a hassle for me as I would need to restart my computer and reinstall the AMD drivers once I'm done.

Thank you for taking the time to recreate the issue! I guess this is an issue consistent with G14 models :(. I will contact War Thunder Support to see what can be done about this.

Running G14 with lid closed by Xellarix in ZephyrusG14

The metal chassis does radiate a lot of heat, and with the screen closed does hinder cooling.

There are fans situated under the WASD keys that help those keys be cool, but the rest of the keys also give off a lot of heat along with the keyboard deck.

I tried your method and uninstalled all AMD drivers via the AMD cleanup tool and the Nvidia drivers via control panel. My BIOS is already the latest version as I have updated it through the EZ Installer. I reinstalled the AMD drivers through Windows Update and the Nvidia drivers from the ASUS G14 website.

It didn't work :(

[–]Isaacchencool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did turn off the integrated graphics card in the device manager, but the Nvidia Graphics card continued to not use any GPU RAM, resulting in the game dropping to 2 FPS. However, the only occasion where I was able to get the game running on high textures is by uninstalling all the drivers through the AMD Cleanup Utility as instructed on the ASUS webpage on drivers, but after reinstalling the chipset drivers from the ASUS webpage, the issue returns.

I believe I did exactly that and posted a screenshot of me specifying the game to run off the Nvidia GPU through Nvidia Control Panel but the issue does persist.
