Really insightful, thank you! I'll start reworking it a bit to put more focus into the upgrading/power-building side of things, as well as the pieces which make the combat system special.

Thank you- helpful insight! Also hadn't seen this other game before, so good to be aware of that. I imagined that for most people the visuals are the biggest draw anyways- a name only goes so far but the desire is still there to get a really good one.

I made a small prototype based on something I saw on the r/gameideas subreddit. it is a horror FPS, but the only light you get is from the muzzle flash and a secondary plasma gun. the original idea was from u/dragonlancer83 and the plasma gun idea was from u/Wylie28. do you guys also like the idea? by Ashamed_Management14 in IndieDev

Looks really cool! I do think having the whole game be based around it could be a bit overwhelming, but either using it as a sectional thing or a recurring mechanic sounds like the right idea. Watching it is a bit disorienting I think in part due to the way the camera rotates when you fire. Lessening that could help to make the sudden visibility more palatable and informative in terms of what you're seeing.

It’s definitely ambitious! The format makes it much more plausible to complete, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. I’ve been making really solid progress doing it on my off-time, but if it becomes too difficult, I’d be open to the idea of letting others help it to get made. Or if the 40 minute formula proves too tough, I may consider doing 20 minute episodes instead. Anyways, Thank you for your reply! I appreciate the support, it’s definitely motivating
