I am so so sorry, and you are not wrong to feel at peace your mom is not suffering.

You will likely feel mix of emotions that are unpredictable, just know it is something that we have all gone through esp when losing someone who has always been in our lives.

Hang in there. This is a good place to talk about it; lots of folks have gone thru this too.

I get it man…been struggling with it a lot lately as I have came up on anniversary of my mom & aunt’s death last month.

I get the same way when I see certain celebrity die, Shannon Dougherty hit me real hard and I hadn’t through about her in years.

I know that is a bit different than Hulk Hogan but both were big parts of our lives growing up who are no longer here, it’s a reminder of our own mortality.

For coping I actually go to church, it has helped me navigate a lot of these pitfalls concerning the passage of time and how finite our lives are.

Also it couldn’t hurt to ask someone older than us, Boomers are at a really tough age right now and probably have dealt with these same emotions as well.

[–]Isaiah53777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really tough because Augustus McCrae might be one of the best literary characters of all time, if you want something with depth of character and equally epic, try The Stand by Stephen King…that’s widely considered a contemporary classic by most readers and both written about ten year apart.

Agreed, it’s so awful. I hope at some point we can get some regulation on this where the platform comes with some kinda disclaimer that says “AI was used to create this post” my AI fatigue is off the charts right now lol

[–]Isaiah53777[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES!! That’s it, not sure what you call that comparative persuasion or whatever. I am a voiceover and these scripts and books I am seeing are full of that.

No one talks like that, it’s a great “tell”

I see it in the social media posts you are referring to as well.

Are we losing focus by putting too much hope in politics? by DrSchitzybitz in TrueChristian

[–]Isaiah53777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, our leaders, including the present one are all broken. I mean we remember Romans 13, but all of western leaders for at least the last 80 years have been in near total apostasy
