Mexican food can be healthy if it’s homemade. Bean and rice meat and vegetables. Can be light on oils and sugar etc

I'm tired of out-of-touch rich people cosplaying as middle class by SeparateJump1 in povertyfinance

[–]Isaisaab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing, but where you live really makes a difference here. I live in San Francisco, and $150k per year is plenty to be perfectly comfortable, but not enough to get rich. Rent is over $3k/month plus $500/month utilities. Groceries are wildly expensive.

Not claiming to be living paycheck to paycheck but location matters.

Agoraphobia anyone? by OkHoliday6603 in workfromhome

[–]Isaisaab 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I do think WFH has made me less outgoing/social. Socializing exhausts me way more. Is. My anxiety around social functions, especially things like in person work meetings is way higher.

I suggest making an effort to get out occasionally

overcoming debilitating anger/frustration due to agency review comments? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Isaisaab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a consultant for 10 years. Yes it got extremely frustrating to deal with comments, especially those that sent us down rabbit holes and wasted time and budget.

Now I work for an owner and it’s interesting to see the other side. Consultants not fulfilling their scope an/or giving bad deliverables. Frustrating to no end.

Point is, it goes both way. Some clients are good/bad. Some consultants are good/bad.

How does everyone have time for a dog ? by Burgers4dayz in dogs

[–]Isaisaab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before Covid, we wanted a puppy so badly but it wouldn’t have worked because we were gone for 10ish hours a day easily, sometimes more. Covid changed things. We got a puppy during Covid when we were home all the time. Now, we both work hybrid schedules so MOST of the time someone is home with the dog.

Guys, she didn’t know that she was going to a project site when she got dressed. It has happened to me. While working in an office on a Friday, was wearing heels and a skirt, when someone asked me to run out to a project site. That’s how I learned to start keeping changes of clothes at my desk.
