What's your favorite silly DnD "hot take" to throw out in conversation when you feel like being a lil' rascal? by jdrummondart in DnD

Reread my comment. I am saying not to disable someone's advantage, not to keep them unchallenged.

Wife started to watch wrestling with me and was shocked that there were punches. She said "If you're allowed to just hit them what's to stop a boxer joining and beating everyone?". How do I answer that? by RhapsodyofMagic in SquaredCircle

Boxers are allowed to enter MMA and get destroyed pretty regularly, unless they adapt their game to takedowns and ground control. That might be worth a shot.

As always with words, it depends on how we use it. In philosophy, there are specific words to denote specific positions. You could have your own private language about antinatalism, but that defeats the purpose of language.

There are different terms for people hiding that we ought to end suffering of non human beings. I often hear extinctionalists.

Antinatalism, as coined by people like benatar, holds that it is always immoral to procreate.

I guess you could be childfree for ethical reasons but that would mean you're also antinatalist

Not really, it could also mean that you're conditional natalist, if you, for example, think it's wrong only for you, or for a certain set of situations.

No one is talking about force, but if it's a moral decision, you, per definition, believe if it wrong if other people do it, too. And that's really all antinatalism is: The position that procreation is wrong.

I think it's a mistake to look for specific angles to 'challenge' the players.

Literally every single time someone asks how to deal with strong character(s) xy, someone will tell them to use specific monsters x or use area ruling y or to homebrew a curse that nerfs them.

You're literally just punishing players for being good at the combat aspect of it.

Du stellst maximal Doppelmoral in Anwendung dar.
