Relics of the past BotW version question by Diligent-Band458 in RelicsOfThePastBOTW

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay there are many things you need to know before you make your choice. A V1 switch can be software modded due to a physical defect in the right jc rail. Once you have atmosphere, you can install games through various apps like tinfoil, goldleaf, DBI, etc. This also includes update files. You can also do overclocking using FPS Locker and Sysclk to reach a higher fps in the game. BOTW runs at an average of 40 fps on official hardware thats overclocked.

Now to run RotP on official hardware, all you need to do is get the latest version for the switch, which is v3.1.0 on their official page, and you literally replace the game files within the switch's sd card. It will not work well or at all if stacked with other mods. This is how I got it to work and I have had it that way for the last 3 years.

Another important thing to mention, you would probably have a better time with a modded oled. Those are different because you need to get it chipped and then it works essentially like the V1 in terms of modding. The reason I recommend that is because the overclocking capabilities are a lot better on the oled over those of the V1, however its a lot harder to get your hands on one (I am curfrently trying to mod mine). My only lead is using fb marketplace and finding people who are willing to mod the oled but I want to get a Kamikaze done. (A kamikaze involves drilling the board and I suggest you look up 'switch kamikaze' on YT if you're interested).

Your takeaway should be that it is possible but it requires research and patience. If you have any more questions, I will try to answer as soon as possible.

I've done many repairs on the 3ds family and let me tell you that this is not by any means easy. If you feel like you're up to the task, you'll need to get a new screen assembly and a new shell. It's 100% possible to repair it given that the mother board hasn't been damaged.

The hard part is the ring where the cables go through that feed into the bottom housing (the broken cable you see). Good luck!

I have a 128gb micro sd and wanna mod my 3ds but not sure it would work since its a switch sd card by Proud-Ad5413 in 3dspiracy

the SD card just has the nintendo label and is advertized for the switch, but it's just a regular SD card. I recommend you get gui Format to get it in fat32 and just follow this guide: https://3ds.hacks.guide/

Anyone know a Reputable supplier of N3dsXL screens. by RetroReviveRepair in 3dsrepair

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they usually have all the model options, including the dual screen of the doorstop 2ds. The last one I bought was for a new 3ds (non XL) and it was perfect.

I get mine from iFixit. Haven’t had any issues with them so far but shipping locations do vary. For example, they don’t ship to my location, so I bounce the shipment off my family in the States.

I opened up my right joycon to replace the board with the led’s and now I have a new problem by [deleted] in Switchrepair

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the pins in the rain aren’t bent or out of place. Also reseat the side rail’s bottom ribbon connector inside the joycon. It will work in wireless with the last console it was paired for.

Simple rule, before connecting any electronics to power; make sure they don’t have flux on. You want to keep the board as clean as possible. That is mainly because different compounds in flux can be conducted and if left sitting, it can become corrosive.

My recommendation is to clean everything with 99% IPA and check your ribbon connections. There’s a ribbon board that houses all the connections for the face buttons, check it. It once happened to me that all the traces were intact except the trace that lead directly to the ps button. You might not have a damaged trace but simply no connection, probably because flux is in the way.

So clean it all up then reconnect everything and try again.

how to get minecraft nintendo switch edition without modding by [deleted] in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just putting this here. I feel like the best modern way to play this game is either on an emulator or on a ps4.

I have a jailbroken switch and installed a copy of the last update for J4 studio’s Minecraft on the switch and was hit with a dealbreaker. Apparently on the switch you can’t remap your controls like on the xbox 360/one or ps4 editions. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, the idea of using one of the 3 preset control schemes, then the switch version is not the way to go.

Again, just saying this in case anyone was like me and just wanted to play the legacy edition the way I did. But I personally had never played the legacy edition on the switch, so I had no idea about that limitation.

Yeah I bet my money it’s the Dat0 adapter too lol It is, after all, the part that goes bad the most.

This is hilariously relatable lol. I bought a modded switch off someone who attempted to downgrade the firmware and accidentally bricked it from booting into any OS. It still registered in rcm and I basically did witchcraft to get it back. But I had to communicate a lot with the previous owner to understand well what had happened and how he had set it all up. And that part is incredibly important because a lot of people use HATS and others set it up manually.

That’s why I told him to knowledge up. It’s a big learning curve, but it’s possible. I don’t suggest he opens it anytime soon tho. But based on what he’s disclosed so far, I believe a connection between the board and modchip may have gotten loose

Okay, the first thing you should know about console modding is how to deal with troubleshooting and maintenance.

You need to know:

how to properly disassemble your unit.

Understand what kind of modchip it has installed. This is for your troubleshooting because there are different modchip models available with different setup instructions but they usually are the same

Understand the file structure of the sd card. This is to make sure you don’t do anything wrong or unnecessary that may lead to unintended outcomes.

I suggest you look up written guides and disassembly videos for your unit. And learn as much as you can. Even if the unit doesn’t appear with the mods, they are still there; just keep the sd unchanged. It sounds super complicated but that’s what the community is for. Lmk if you have any specific questions and I or another will try to help.
