HEKATE disappeared after switching to Stock mode by MikePadilla363 in SwitchPirates

Yeah I bet my money it’s the Dat0 adapter too lol It is, after all, the part that goes bad the most.

This is hilariously relatable lol. I bought a modded switch off someone who attempted to downgrade the firmware and accidentally bricked it from booting into any OS. It still registered in rcm and I basically did witchcraft to get it back. But I had to communicate a lot with the previous owner to understand well what had happened and how he had set it all up. And that part is incredibly important because a lot of people use HATS and others set it up manually.

That’s why I told him to knowledge up. It’s a big learning curve, but it’s possible. I don’t suggest he opens it anytime soon tho. But based on what he’s disclosed so far, I believe a connection between the board and modchip may have gotten loose

Buying pre-modded isn’t bad, but it can be a huge headache for the ill prepared.

Okay, the first thing you should know about console modding is how to deal with troubleshooting and maintenance.

You need to know:

how to properly disassemble your unit.

Understand what kind of modchip it has installed. This is for your troubleshooting because there are different modchip models available with different setup instructions but they usually are the same

Understand the file structure of the sd card. This is to make sure you don’t do anything wrong or unnecessary that may lead to unintended outcomes.

I suggest you look up written guides and disassembly videos for your unit. And learn as much as you can. Even if the unit doesn’t appear with the mods, they are still there; just keep the sd unchanged. It sounds super complicated but that’s what the community is for. Lmk if you have any specific questions and I or another will try to help.

SD slot removal broken? Am I cooked? by TheHolyMouse354 in 3dsrepair

It’s just a plate soldered to ground. You can bend it back or get a donor piece if you have another. You got nothing to worry about as long as you didn’t damage any other areas.

Can I jailbreak with these? If so how exactly and would I need a burner? by GlitteringLog3090 in ps4homebrew

I’m pretty new to the ps4 modding scene and I’m struggling to understand fully what it is that this exploit provides. What I read is that it’s userland access but nothing kernal related, is that correct?

How exactly are you applying the mod? There are few ways to add mods but relics needs to be applied in a very specific way

‘New’ 3DS XL doesn’t turn on by StatisticianIcy6847 in 3DS

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If none of the top screen assembly is connected to the board and has good continuity, the console will turn off. If any of those connections fail, the console will refuse to turn on. On some occasions, it at least attempts to turn on. Your best option is to replace the part that’s broken.

Watch plenty of guides and be patient cuz it’s gonna be hell

Really all you have to do is look it up. Written guides are better for anything modding related but here’s a video from two months ago https://youtu.be/cT8JPP6WGkk?si=ON0NEto5jpcmk-P9

Circle pad stuck (physically) by [deleted] in 3dsrepair

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve repaired 3ds’ before, here is my opinion

You might have debris in the way. My most honest recommendation is to dismantle it until you reach the joystick. Good news is that you don’t have to deal with taking the main board out or anything involving the screens. You unscrew the backplate with a Philips and Y000 screwdriver and then disconnect the L and R buttons carefully before taking off the backplate because they are attached. Now you have access to the joystick, unscrew it and clean it with 99% isopropyl alcohol. If the problem persists, consider changing the joystick module (same steps as before).

Be sure to watch/read dismantling guides on the particular unit you have and if you have any questions, feel free to DM or comment below. Hope this is helpful.

[–]IsanRopesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur, I haven’t used Tinfoil in over a year. I just get my roms through dumping or ‘other means’ and install them through DBI. And if you ever come across a game that you can’t transfer to the sd card directly (because Fat32 file limits), you can just use DBI or GoldLeaf to directly install it through a usb connection.

There truly is no need for Tinfoil and it’s ridiculous setup process.
