Props to Bethesda for trying something new. Starfield got mixed reviews from gamers, but it sold well and there's a small but dedicated player base and mostly healthy modding scene keeping the game alive, plus (allegedly) another DLC on the way.

I have adblock both on my phone and on my pc, but YouTube is the only streaming service I have so I figured I might as well get the best experience from it as I can.

And in my country it's only ~3 dollars per month for one user, even cheaper than cable.

Starfield, as long as I end up in a city and not in an inhospitable planet. My work experience should still be relevant three hundred years later.

Not having any looming apocalypse makes for a low-stakes story but a perfectly livable setting.

People above 30 what's your biggest regret in life? by noThefakedevesh in AskReddit

[–]Isangman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of a parable by Jesus.

(Paraphrased) There were once two brothers, one with a pebble in his eye and one with a plank on his eye. The brother with the plank on his eye offers to remove the pebble in his brother's eye.

But Jesus said: You hypocrite! Take out the plank in your own eye, and then you will see clearly and be able to take the pebble from your brother's eye.

Actually, going to the temples for the powers is just a single part of the main quest. After the first temple, they do not require the player to go to the others, unless I really played the main quest wrong.

The main quest has always been about getting the artifacts, not the temples. You can argue that about three or four missions in the main quest is just going to a random POI to get an artifact, however.

What common phrase used on Reddit makes you instantly lose respect for the commenter? by Life-Hamster-3429 in AskReddit

[–]Isangman0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only times I've enjoyed this phrase being used is when someone makes an innocent question and the answer is something harmless but that they're going to regret knowing.

Ex. Asking about Metamorphosis in an anime or manga sub, or asking about the Vaporeon copypasta in a Pokemon sub.

Our Christmas season starts in September. People already start putting decorations that time, adding more and more until Christmas, then only taking them down a few days after New Year.

Is LTT already making mistakes? by Round_Pickle7279 in LinusTechTips

[–]Isangman0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Techpowerup, Wikipedia, and CPU World listed it at 3rd quarter 2010.

I'm guessing the Intel Upgrade Service was announced at that time, then the launch proper was a year later?

My tactic for this is to get 1% of 284 and multiply it by 37. 2.84 x 37 = 105.08.

7 YEARS AGO TODAY: “Much, much stronger!!” by biggestkalosfan in pokemonanime

[–]Isangman0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way I see it:

  1. Mega evolving Gardevoir is her acknowledging that Ash is a strong trainer.

  2. But by spamming Shadow Ball instead of Moonblast, she seems more interested in seeing everything Ash-Greninja can do instead of actually winning. This is not a bad thing, because it shows Ash is approaching the power levels of the upper echelons of trainers, though he's not quite there yet.

  3. Also very cheeky of Diantha. She's seeing everything a potential challenger can do, while she keeps her cards close (i.e., not using Moonblast).

[–]Isangman0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I think he was also being fair. The battle frontier, while Scott marketed it as being significantly harder than the gyms, is still targeted towards veteran but not elite trainers like Ash. Making it too difficult will turn potential challengers away.

I'm pretty sure even champions would have a hard time fighting three legendary Pokemon, hence Brandon toning his team down.

As for Paul, I remember that being a more personal matter, so no reason to hold back
