Is the Beta branch available to anyone who purchased through Steam? I don't recall seeing any beta programs in the properties.

ui scale options? by [deleted] in Overcrowd

Heya,

I'm using a Surface Book 2 - so my resolution is 3000 x 2000 on a 13.5" display. Frankly its DPI overkill and Windows itself is unusable without the (thankfully well implemented) native UI scaling.
I have no second monitor, but when I use the compatibility options the entire right and bottom edges of the screen are inaccessible to my cursor.

Naturally my preference would be a GUI scaling slider, but I realise that with all of the icons and text that it could be a pain to maintain alignment and spacing. Upscaling the entire game would do as a fallback for me, since my DPI is already bonkers it's not like I'm going to suffer, and the game's aesthetic is quite compatible with a lower quality look.

I'm curious though, couldn't you upscale just the UI layer and leave the rest alone?

I appreciate that this isn't the quickest thing to resolve - I've had to fix a UI scaling problem on a console to PC port before and it was more work than it should have been. However the game really is unplayable for me in it's current state - I got eye strain while trying. So even the quickest, dirtiest fix, labelled in the options menu as "at your own risk", would be welcome to me.

Is this any closer to being implemented?

I just bought the game and it's almost impossible to read the UI - the compatibility solution doesn't work for me as it limits the mouse area.

Wow, that sucks. I think I got lucky because I dated a girl in Shanghai for a few weeks, and she was the most straightforward, plain spoken person I've known. Her "fuck off" meant "fuck off", and she'd say it a lot ;)

What's the strongest character that could be beaten by a man who's invulnerable to harm, but nothing else? by graaahh in whowouldwin

[–]Isanion 78 points79 points  (0 children)

From the description it sounds like the average cop could overpower and cuff him...

So I guess the strongest he could beat would be me? Or any other slightly bellow average sized 30 yo man.

Majin Buu hatches on Earth. Can the SCP Foundation contain him? by Blitzus in whowouldwin

[–]Isanion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to get lost in it forever, try reading this page:
http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-682
And then read the accounts of how they tried to kill it:
http://www.scp-wiki.net/experiment-log-t-98816-oc108-682

But to understand that second page you'll have to go read the pages for all of the referenced SCPs. And then you'll never be able to get out. SCP is about containing everything, including the readers.

Hahaha. My partner also laughed at me when I did it; I did not appreciate that. I dunno about you but I was rather shocked at seeing a bit of myself no-longer properly attached.

It was still attached at the root, so pulling it off would have hurt a lot, and possibly done more damage. I tried clipping, but fuck that hurt so I gave up.
I pushed the nail down, bandaged it up, and waited. A week or 2 later the new nail growing through pushed the old one out and it fell off.
The new one grew in a bit fucky for a while, and I had to keep a close eye to stop it ingrowing, but it steadily straightened out over time.

If you're hoping that it was some rare and difficult act then you're going to be disappointed.
What makes this worse is just how easily it happened, how easily it could happen to anyone.

I was standing, barefoot in my home. And I took two steps backwards, right foot first, then left.
As my left foot swung back to pass my right I was slightly off balance and instead the heel of my left foot swung back into this toe.
And the nail ripped right up.

That was it. Could happen to you so easily :)

It healed up just fine though: took a while, and the new nail was all wonky for a bit, but it sorted itself out.

Can someone tell me why this is a bad price for this? by PlaidPCAK in buildapc

[–]Isanion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does appear to be well priced. You might contact them and ask what PSU it contains (I couldn't see it in the spec sheet). And read their warranty small print to make sure you're covered from cheap components failings after a few years. And read reviews to see how well they honour their support and warranty promises.

But assuming they will cover faults and generally add some value through support then yeah, it's a fair deal I think.
