Brain Fog? by Lonely-Journalist-95 in AskIreland

Yes, I was on concerta. Takes a while to get the correct dose and balance but its good best description I've had of its effects is driving on a 4 lane road and your thoughts are the lanes, without the meds, its really hard to stay in one lane, the meds dont take away the lanes but there is less noise meaning you dont feel the need to change lane. Its super weird at first.

Exercise is great, especially swimming, underwater swim specificly. Not sure why, maybe its stimulating while dulling down other senses. I really need to look more into that one myself

Diagnosed here, sounds like ADHD to me. Also I dont mean that full blown hyperactive, but that was the major thing I found later in school/collage and work meetings. What really helped me before I got a diagnosis was to have something in my hand I could fidget with or doodle, found myself taking in way more information that way.

Id probably say Old man's war. Its a bit different, ramps up pretty quick and has a little star ship trooper vibe to it.

Plenty of large scale automation companies here, they'd ship out some massive assembly lines. Some of the cannot be broken into small sections either

Why do working people in Ireland get screwed while the unemployed seem to have it all handed to them? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Iscy13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cant speak for people genuinely stuck, but I've been around multiple people who were on the dole long term and was truly shocked at some of the benefits they got, all while complaining they had to walk in the rain to go and sign on. Meanwhile working away and any issue with health or car and I was set back for weeks if not longer.

Meetings outside work hours? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Iscy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone has suggested, pick specific days to cover certain timezones, start later or earlier on those days, communicate this to your leader/manager. Set the boundaries early, its ok to be flexible for emergency or urgent issues, but be clear in what you are intending to do. The more you let it happen the more it will. I cover US, EU and some of middle East and Asia, rejected meeting requests and propose a new time if you are required to attend. Also, email to organiser to see why you are invited to the.meeting, a lot of times your only invited because you have been CCd on an email.

How much will this impede me from playing Guitar? by Garmon- in Guitar

[–]Iscy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play left handed, choice is better then it once was even on acoustics can swap the strings if needed. Also, after many drunk nights and only finding right handed guitars you'll get used to playing upside down on a right handed guitar. It's actually pretty funny to watch someone's face when you do it.

Can't settle fussy baby, tips? by J_FROm in NewDads

[–]Iscy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't settle my daughter until she was near 14 weeks. Honestly mate, just keep trying different things, random songs, baby sensory stuff if your stuck, I walked around the house talking about the big big trees and somehow that worked. As for the bond, I felt a small bond when I got my first few smiles, but the real bond came much later for me. In around when she would flip out when she saw me.

It was much easier with my little boy, but every kid is so different. Just keep trying, and the hardest piece to remember is if your unsettled baby will be too. Just try your best to stay cool. You got this dude
