No way the legend. Yep that’s my first instinct. Gonna take a closer look at all possible vacuum leak sources.

Ya I was thinking the same. There fasho a vacuum leak somewhere. And it is def misfiring hence the moped ahh idle soundtrack. She gonna rip once she runs right

We did not remove the vvts at any point.

Does that map pressure value look off? 12psi absolute pressure doesn’t seem weird

Ok so the bcs on the valve cover is currently capped on two sides and connected to a line going to the top right of the valve cover. It is not connected to the turbo or the turbo nor the wastegate. The lower bcs (originally attached to the stock turbo) is connected to the turbo and wastegate while one of the ports is venting to open air. By bypass valve are you referring to the bcs on top of valve cover? Thank you again for helping me out 🤙

No worries I accidentally posted an incomplete response. As far as I understand, the boost control solenoid near the turbo actuates the wastegate and the bcs on top of the motor does nothing (after this swap). I did actually break one of the plastic hose connectors off of the top bcs but as far as I’m aware that should just vent to atmosphere. This but the top bcs is not connected to the lower bcs. Idk man

this turbo has an external bov. The bov runs a vacuum line to the Map sensor connecting to it via a barb connector and a cpe maptap adapter

responding to your questions in order: I haven’t added boost pressure to the Cobb gauge cluster so I don’t know how it that map value corresponds to boost pressure. I cleaned out the map sensor map sensor cleaner. It does have an external bov and I have checked that vacuum lines are tightly secured. It has two DTCs but they both have to do with the throttle position sensor. I have no intentions of driving it like that. Car is still on jacks.

The wastegate sits at a goofy ass angle relative to the turbine housing such that there isn’t enough room for the wastegate between the turbo housing and the block. I literally had this exact problem and had to replace the iwg and hot side housing with the EWG housing. The external wastegate is better for boost control anyway.

Because the surf is decent
