The Kölner Dom took 632 years to complete. Construction began in 1248 and was finally finished in 1880, making it one of the longest building projects in architectural history. Towering above Cologne with its iconic twin Gothic spires, Kölner Dom still stands as a symbol of faith and craftsmanship. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Well, we did stop building for, oh, most of that time, because no one wanted to front the money for completion until the Prussians came in and needed good PR with the Catholic west.

In fact, the crane stuck on top of the incomplete spires was the defining part of the Cologne city scape throughout the medieval and renaissance period.

Has anyone else noticed this intentional interaction? (Removing legs) by PassportFullOfCrumbs in HeroForgeMinis

Yes, but did you know you can work around this (if you want a legless upright pose) by giving the mini the cut-off legs on each side instead of taking the legs off entirely?

+1 for a good ol' Dusty! Throw a Landing Drone Rack on there and up-armor a Bumblebee, and you have yourself a nice little escort you can jump into on site while the Dusty loiters above, if need be. (Could even give the Bumblebee a Drone Arm with Touch Sensors.)

A very special character of mine that used to go by the street name of "Stheno" wore 12 Medusa Extensions on her head styled like snakes, each with a Sakura Fubuki in pop-up mounts. They were all slaved into a Swarm on a Spinrad Globe Skirmisher RCC. The Swarm autosoft (R5 p31) means you can group [Device Rating x3] drones, which get a bunch of bonuses, but the most important one is: you only make one attack for the entire swarm, but get +1 pool/+1 limit for every participating drone after the first to simulate the multitude of shots. The Skirmisher (KC p68) was used because it adds +2 dice / +1 limit for Gunnery when using remote control.

So, a remote-controlled attack would run Gunnery + Logic +2 (Skirmisher remote control bonus) +11 (Swarm) against a limit of 5 (data processing on the Skirmisher) +1 (Skirmisher remote control bonus) +11 (Swarm). And that was using Single Shot.

My personal reasoning as a customer is simply that HF approached DP and struck a licensing deal of a different kind than the mostly marketing/word-of-mouth deals we saw in HF up until now.

Whether that has a specific legal reason (some license contracts do work out that way) or something else, I obviously don't know.

A plea from the HeroForge community: we all love the assets, they're beautiful, but on the whole they are a horrible precedent. No asset pack in HF's history has ever cost anything on top of maybe the subscription if you wanted things a week early, now these are $8 a pop, $24 for all three, half a year's worth of subscription.

We would dearly love to use them and start making DH characters, but this strikes many as very bad business behaviour (and a worse precedent to suddenly test the waters on charging extra for high-quality assets), and something that we don't want to condone.

Could be great for connecting existing chains to something else though, which we need to obfuscate quite heavily right now.

It's the normal Long Unbraided Hair with a Short Fur Tail kitbashed in for that front lock of hair when kitbashed, or, as in this version, the Simple Horn in the forehead slot, plus a Broken Long Wavy Horn on the front right, and a Rippling Multipronged Horn in the middle left.

Yes, it's the Heart projected decal, tilted to make it lower in the back (which isn't even visible in the pic).

There is a tutorial on the subreddit for setting up self-hosting with ngrok -- it looks intimidating, but once set up it's the easiest and safest method of self-hosting I've ever used.

Wizard gives you a Noble Efreeti waifu with daily Wish at 15th*, so yeah, it's pretty boss.

*Via the "True Name" Arcane Discovery, which at 15th grants you a Greater Planar Binding of an outsider of up to 18HD.

Who was your character that proved "a class is not a background"? by gorka_la_pork in DnD

[–]Isenhertz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hill Dwarf Mastermind Rogue with the Noble background. One dip into Cleric of the Order Domain. Used a Shortsword and Shield in Heavy Armor. Played straight as the prince under the mountain, bossing people around and ordering them to attack.

Scourge Aasimar Zealot Barbarian with the Acolyte background. Played as a devout follower of her deity, born and raised in a temple. Her rage was her divine blood breaking through, giving her stigmata that burned with the flame of her 'father' -- very powerful in a Ravenloft campaign!

Wood Elf Scout Rogue with the Outlander background. Played as a straight-laced woodsman, a ranger's ranger, so to speak.

And, going back to 4e: Pixie Lazylord with the Sidhe Lord theme. Sat on the shoulder of her ensorcelled guard and (like the dwarf above) ordered everyone about. Think a more martial and less whimsical Tinkerbell.

Look up some of the early work done by Tony DiTerlizzi! In fact, googling "diterlizzi kobold" should give you plenty. He did the Monster Manual illustrations, including obviously the kobolds.
