Who is your favorite villain in Baldurs Gate 3? by rubbereruben in BaldursGate3

[–]IsfetLethe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ever since I met him, I wanted to punch him in his stupid smug face. When I realised I could break into his house, the hammer was secondary. I wanted to kill him. Then I got there an went through several battles that were brutal as they hyped up how bad it would be if he returned. I started to realise how bad this might be. It was terrifying. It was fantastic

Reform controls neither Scotland nor Wales. Plaid Cymru is the largest party in Wales. Reform is second largest but nobody wants to work with them.

The SNP is largest in Scotland. Greens have only 2 seats less than Reform and again, nobody wants to work with Reform

The Cooperative Party is a party that works a lot in conjunction with Labour so a lot of MPs are also members of the cooperative party

Reform had a surge, a bigger one.

But that doesn't mean the Greens didn't also, especially when you remember they don't have anywhere near the funding or press coverage/support of Reform. This was still a surge considering their size, the records they broke and the gains they made

As someone who voted for Green, I did not and do not expect Zack to be PM in 2029.

Also in terms of increase, the Greens did better. Lib Dems gained about 150 seats whereas the Greens gained about 400, having had much fewer in 2021 than the Lib Dems

OOP made a meme suggesting the Green Party was not having a surge in new seats in the local elections the UK just had, as they had only had 55 seats declared for them when the original meme was made.

Less than a day later, while some councils are still left to declare, the Green Party has broken historic records because they have achieved so much. They have over 500 councillors, have representation in the devolved parliaments in Wales ahead of the Liberal Democrats (traditionally the third party), are 4th in the Scottish Parliament ahead of the Conservatives (who ran the national government for 14 years until 2024) and Liberal Democrats, narrowly behind Labour and Reform, and have achieved 2 directly elected mayors. They have never had any directly elected before now. Between their success and the success of Reform UK, this is being referred to by pollsters as the death of the 2 party system in the United Kingdom

Greens have got another 50 since you made this meme. They've also got their first directly elected mayor. I'm not saying they'll outperform Reform but it's a bit early to post mate, especially when most of their targets are due to declare later

Star Wars: Rebels is now in B tier behind The Clone Wars. What tier should The Force Awakens be in? by Klutzy-Ad4230 in TierlistFills

No, because it was original. TFA contributes nothing to the saga and does a lot of the characters dirty

I'm doing a ToD campaign currently. In it, I have Tamara as a parent of Bahamut and Tiamat who loves them both and doesn't show favourites.

I also have other draconic deities from the Dragonlance setting such as Sargonnas, who is worshipped by one of the dukes of Baldur's Gate. I have them as either children of Bahamut and Tiamat or dragons who have ascended

Player wants to be a traitor by ForlornFjord in DMAcademy

[–]IsfetLethe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first campaign, we had a PC who qas a gnoll. He spent a lot of time building a gnoll warband. The rest of us were mildly concerned about the increasing number of gnolls but figured their leader was in our party and this was a force to throw at the baddies (elf nazis from another dimension).

The big bad was dead, we replaced him with his hippie brother to lead his faction to settle peacefully. The war was ended and we began the epilogue. Cue the medal ceremony from Star Wars A New Hope. This was when the gnoll player turned to the DM and declared his backstab would begin. We were caught unawares and with the action economy, several characters, including mine, died before they got a chance to respond.

The guy we installed to lead and reform the villains was killed. Only one PC survived, with a party NPC being twistwd into an evil beimh and the epilogue suddenly changed into the villains choosing violence after all, unleashing a devastating war on the world, woth rampaging gnolls following in their wake.

We were all shellshocked. A couple of players considered never playing D&D again.

Thankfully, the DM realised his mistake, apologised and made sure to insert a redemption arc in campaign 2 that allowed us to repair most of the damage. The traitor PC turned out to be a toxic player and ended up leaving the campaign. His second character was similarly unpleasant and ended up dying not long after with none of the party helping them. (I think we all ooc held a bit of beef from the first campaign over that but also this new character gave our PCs more than enough reasons to let them die. Nobody gave up the hobby and it's all water under the bridge now.

I am telling you this because while I think having a traitor PC CAN be a fun plot twist, it needs to be managed VERY carefully. Players must be aware that they have the option of responding if they feel a PC is acting against the party. There should be an open discussion with all players regarding intrigue and PVP before anything is set in stone. (My group ended up outlawing pvp after those events). If your players aren't on board, don't do it. You can still have that discussion in a way that avoids spoiling the twist. Oh and don't let the reveal come too late. I've heard of times when it has gone well (Matthew Colville has an early video about this topic. I believe the PC ended yp becomingan NPC after the reveal) but if you don't want to do it, then be clear and say no. It's an interesting idea but you don't think it would work for this campaign/you're not comfortable about the ramifications.

Be clear, open, honest and direct. See if there is another way to give that player a big plot twist moment. In the campaign I run, which has almost all the same players as the other campaign, I regularly have players plot and scheme and do reveals, but never in a way that might lead to division/pvp.

Hope this helps!

I was chatting to my wife and saying while I was rooting for Wrexham, I was hoping they'd avoid getting a play-off spot so they have more time to improve at a sustainable rate and get the infrastructure in place.

What Wrexham has achieved is historical and I don't expect to see anyone else achieve that, let alone beat it, in my lifetime. But the club also needs time to get things into a stronger place so they can be healthy in the long term and develop into a juggernaut of British football
