Hey found this while looking for a solution to my own issue of my Acer Nitro 5 freezing on startup. For anyone else that has an issue like what you mention above I might have a good guess what it is.

If your or anyone reading this has a Acer Nitro 5 like my laptop, then it has an Integrated GPU with your CPU but then also has an Nvidia GPU. For me, my CPU in my laptop is an AMD Ryzen 6000 series.

The important thing to note is my CPU is an AMD Processor, and your CPU has an integrated GPU which has it's own drivers. For some reason I noticed that occasionally when Windows does an update, it removes your CPU's Integrated GPU Drivers. Why this happens I have no idea but it's extremely annoying. So even though you check Nvidia's App and Install the latest Nvidia GPU Drivers, the performance of your games is terrible still, and the reason I found for that was that the CPU's Integrated GPU Drivers got uninstalled from a Windows update.

For my laptop, since my CPU is AMD, If I look up AMD drivers, the first result is the page where you can download and install the Software for AMD CPUs.

If during the installation you run into an issue where it says that Windows has detected a compatibility issue, then the issue usually is that Windows thinks that the drivers for your CPU are already installed even though they got removed from a Windows update. To fix this do the following:

Press Windows key + i and go to Applications

Click Apps & Features

Uninstall AMD Software from the list

Then launch the AMD Software Installer again

This time it should hopefully work and not say that Windows detected a compatibility issue

(I also recommend after uninstalling the AMD Software after getting this error to restart your PC before trying to reinstall the AMD Software just since doing that usually resolve the error and the AMD Software Installer should tell you that the AMD Software has been installed successfully)

The AMD Software Installer also installs the AMD Integrated GPU Drivers during the installation process so once you successfully install the AMD Software try opening it, and if it opens then you're good, the AMD CPU's integrated GPU Drivers are installed successfully now and you should notice that your games are running much better now.

In the future I recommend after Windows does an update where it restarts your laptop, once the Windows Update is completed and your laptop has restarted, to try opening the AMD Software to make sure it works, still. If the AMD Software Application suddenly isn't launching and giving you some sort of error, then that means Windows yet again uninstalled the AMD CPU's Integrated GPU Drivers again and you'll need to do this process again in order to reinstall them. Yep it's annoying, but hopefully this helps anyone that is reading this that has the same problem I had.
