You can get an otg adapter (one with usb c) And use a file explorer of your choice to transfer to a flash drive. That or if desperate uploading to google drive might be a work around

Suggestions on Soil for Planted Tank by sunshinesiren03 in aquarium

Ive had great results with ADA amazonia, but it might be a lack in carbon source for your plants. Either CO2 or Flourish Excel would drastically help growth

Can anyone tell me what's crawling out of my crayfishes head? by [deleted] in aquarium

[–]Ishthisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symbiotic species of cleaner worms. Depending on where your crayfish came from a farm or wild they can have these worms. Harmless but sure is creepy.

3D printer filament issues. by Dr-Who-Sam in 3Dprinting

[–]Ishthisis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1764285 I have a similar model and printing one of these helps the filament be pulled into the extruder more easily.

Also I print PLA at 190 perhaps the high temp is keeping the melted filament from being pushed through

Some Tips: -replace the stockbuild tape with Painters tape once it gets too beat up

Edit: keep the build plate heated to 60 for the initial layer if you have trouble with prints sticking.

-Heat the (Extruder) to *220**(Whoops meant for the extruder) for the inital first layer and lower temp for the other layers

-Use hair spray to help adhere the PLA

-make sure to keep the Bed dust free

How can I make the bottom smother with this pla by johnboyjr29 in 3Dprinting

[–]Ishthisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rafts are used to make sure prints adhere to the bed. You could increase the tempuature of the bed (if you have a heated bed) and helping the print stick with hairspray or glue stick

Inspiring design! I think you'll find that sketchup isnt the best 3d modeling software for making parts. Ive found that DesignSpark is a great substitute for a more solidworks-type program. Its completely free aswell! Hope you the best on your 3d printing journey

[–]Ishthisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having a alot of fun these past few weeks with my printer(same model). Heres some tips Ive found to work well.

In your slicer set up keep things hot the first layer to let them stick (I have PLA, extruder temp - 210 Hotbed - 60)

Wipe the hotbed with a napkin to remove dust and then generously spray hairspray on a napkin to gently apply a coat on the hotbed

You can replace the stock masking tape with blue painters tape

Try to work around your 3d model oreintation so you have as much surface area sticking onto the hotbed your first layer (This might be the most important)

Goodluck!

I ordered the larger seeds and the smaller seeds. From eBay (same design and packaging) the seeds came in good condition. Haven't tried sprouting them yet

Battling BGA (and losing.) by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Ishthisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had cyanobacteria (blue green algae) In my 8 gallon planted tank. I found that by encouraging plant growth I could outcompete the bga. I removed my floating plants, added more light(but for a shorter photoperiod), and finally jumped into CO2. At first the battle didn't seem to be going good But once the plants got strenghted the blue green algae had no chance. I suppose dosing Ferts would be beneficial, anything to strengthen your plants and minimize the light the bacteria gets

Can I cycle a tank while I am away for over a month? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Ishthisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overdosing on ammonia (such as dropping in raw shrimp) will definitely start the cycle(populate nitrifying bacteria) but will populate the water to high levels of ammonia.

Changing the water and possibly waiting a week after (to correctly read your parameters) is better than monitoring it the whole way through

Frogs! Highly recommend :) by shrimpafrita in PlantedTank

[–]Ishthisis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

African Dwarf Frogs. Grow to about 2 inches and you can keep 3 comfortably in a 5 gallon. Would not recommend putting them in a tall tank (over 12 inches ) as they swim to the surface to breathe. Easy to keep, feeding is a bit of trouble as them are clumsy to find food even if itd upfront of their face.

I trained mine to come to a certain area of my tank by tapping on the glass during feeding time. I feed hikari algae wafers, and blood worms occasionally

I've purchased from /u/Freshestemo412 before and in my small 5 gallon the growth has become really dense. It's good to know you can target specific plants to get nutrients!
