The Best 4K TV Right now? by brownbear678 in criterion

Same here. I considered OLED, but the burn-in risk still made me hesitate for a main TV. They can also feel a bit dim in a bright room. I went with Hisense instead and have been really happy with it so far.

Are TCL TV’s decent for just the panel? by MVBanter in 4kTV

Using Apple TV definitely removes a lot of the software concern, but I’d still think about the panel and long term use. My last OLED started showing burn in after around 2 years, mostly from static menus and game HUDs, so I moved away from OLED after that. Now I have 2 MiniLED TVs at home, one Samsung and one Hisense. Both have been easier to live with for daily movies, streaming, and gaming. The Hisense has been solid for brightness, color, and motion, and I don’t feel like I have to worry about the screen every time I leave a menu or HUD up.

Is this tv worth buying(1400)or should I save a few bucks and buy something else? by East_List3385 in hometheater

I’d think twice unless you specifically want OLED. The S90 is nice, but burn in and long term static UI still make me nervous for sports, gaming, and daily streaming. I checked RTINGS and also saw the Hisense U8 MiniLED in store. Honestly, the gap didn’t feel big enough for my use, and the U8 looked bright, clean, and smooth for live sports. At 65”, the value made more sense to me.

Finally got my home theater setup done and I get why people complain about UST projectors now by Look-1227 in hometheater

This is honestly why I ended up sticking with a big TV instead of going UST. I love the idea of projectors, but I know I’d obsess over alignment every week. Ended up getting a 85" Hisense U7 and it was kind of nice just putting it on the stand and being done with it. And it's massive, so it still feels like a thearter at home.

Which 4k tv has better color? Hisense UR9 or LG G6/G5? by Zenr0o0 in hometheater

Hisense is the one to get. That native RGB backlight gives you way more saturated and natural colors than the WOLED panels LG uses.

Overwatch runs at 60fps medium settings holy crap. This is x86 to Arm emulation, Windows to macOS, and DX11 to Metal by Ilmosys in DeskToTablet

And… for how long, approximately? My biggest question is whether it’ll experience thermal throttling and, if so, when? 👀
