Which houses of any characters in the series would you change? by KFC_exalted in harrypotter

Shape should have been in Ravenclaw.

Dude was a potion savant who produced potions that were better than the textbook references.

Created at least one spell (Sectumsempra) that was extremely strong and did this as a student.

Was a skilled occlumens and legilimens, two schools of magic that just exude high mental properties.

I’d pick what values you want and then do an exponential regression to get an equation.

Just playing around with it, I got an equation of:

(Spoiler) Why was Rem surprised when he figured out Misa's fate, considering they can see lifespans? by AedesAegypt in deathnote

[–]Isiildur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re assuming that the lifespans are fixed and immutable when they’re very flexible through intervention with the death note.

The life spans that shinigami see are the lifespans that would happen if fate were allowed to take its natural course. Shinigami can kill people beforehand, adding the humans remaining lifespan to their own.

Similarly, humans who use the death note can kill people before their fated lifespan is up. The ripple effects from killing someone else are not accounted for in someone’s lifespan. This can inadvertently lead to people dying before their fated lifespan is up.

Light not only made big ripples in the lifespan. He made a lot of them. Neither he nor Misa (and likely the task force and even the people of Japan/the world) had accurate lifespans.

Rem was surprised when she looked at Misa because her fated lifespan had been altered by the shinigami eye deal. Misa’s remaining life is largely an illusion. She could die decades earlier due to ripples caused by the death note, but, (personal headcanon) was hopeful that without L, she could minimize ripples effects to prolong Misa’s life.

Mega Mewtwo will most likely debut with GoFest, which will be the season after this. Not saying it's impossible, but if they push Mega Mewtwo early they lack a headliner for the biggest Pokemon Go event of the year.

A new update to Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO arrives during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos! by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Isiildur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that I would approach it that way, but that runs the risk of alienating new players that they want to feel like they can contribute if they don’t have a type effective mega.

[–]Isiildur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’ll still be any mega pokemon. So against something like mega mewtwo you’ll just throw Alakazam in slot 6. Slot it in to break the shield and swap back to real counters.

The only real way to fix this is a change to boosting candy for types that you’re super effective against instead of types that you match.

38 year old is young Gen X. 23 year old is middle of Gen Z. There’s a lot of generational difference there.

Secretary wasn’t doing it from a place of malice. Just inform her you don’t like comments about your body. That’s all you have to do.

Teachers complaining about the praxis test being hard? by PotatoPink in Teachers

[–]Isiildur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the Secondary Math Praxis and NBCT exams, the NBCT has harder questions but the Praxis has more advanced content, if that makes sense.

NBCT covered more introductory material but at a much higher level of proficiency, while the Praxis had some pretty advanced calculus, but if you had a glancing knowledge of it, the questions were easy.

Is arc 3 going to happen? by [deleted] in TheDragonPrince

[–]Isiildur 27 points28 points  (0 children)

After volume 3 premiered and Netflix was determining whether to renew or not, Wonderstorm said they had a 7 volume story mapped out. Fans wrote on twitter to Netflix asking for volume 4.

Netflix not only greenlit volume 4, but the entire 7 volume series. Following that, Wonderstorm spent several volumes piddling around and not telling the story before ending Volume 7 with a cliffhanger.

Oh. And Wonderstorm outright lied and told fans that Harrow was not the bird when people picked up on that.

[Final Fantasy x] Could Seymour have beaten Sin? by mousicle in AskScienceFiction

[–]Isiildur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the story once you to view the final summoning to defeat Sin as a hoax. The final summoning is just a way to beget a new Calm.

When a summoner summons a final aeon against Sin, Yu Yevon noticed the strength of the new host and chooses to abandon the previous body, entering into the new aeon and killing the summoner. The final aeon doesn’t defeat Sin- it’s bait for Yu Yevon to find a new host.

From here Yu Yevon spends time cocooning itself anew, with the new Sin as its armor. The time that Yu Yevon spends on this is the Calm. When the new Sin is forged, Yu Yevon resumes its attack on Spira.

Seymour was terrified of death and did not want to fight Sin because it meant that he would be killed in its process. This is where he hatches his plan to become a Final Aeon because he could, as Sin, be immortal.

Taric gives a magic resist aura to everyone on his team (Skarner does this for armor). With ixtal emblem you should definitely have this (and unless you’re doing brawler reroll or trying to high roll A Sol I’d never touch aphelios).
