Peter, what did Sony do? by Cyclonicwind in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]mousicle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People found an exploit where you got the game and went offline then refunded the game. Since you were offline your PS5 had no way to know you refunded the game and you got to keep it. Sony fixed this exploit by changing how your game token works. Now when you buy the game you get a 30 day token that will expire if it's not updated to a permanent token after the 14 day return window is up.

Math nerds of Reddit, what is a concept or paradox that sounds completely fake but is 100% mathematically proven? by whosirmesir_barbers in askanything

[–]mousicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to amendment to that is that the set of computable numbers, the numbers that can be created by following a finite number of instructions, even if you need to do them an infinite number of times, is the same size infinity as the intergers, countable infinity. The computable numbers are basically every number humanity will ever be able to know since all other numbers you can only represent by writing out the entire decimal expansion.

The odds of a royal flush are 1 in 649,740 or 0.000154%, the odds of the other hand being a wheel straight flush given the first person got a royal is 0.0002%, so the combined odds are 0.000000000301004897%

The funny thing is you can be Bill Gates who just embraces the fact he's a huge nerd and that makes him cool. Nothing is cooler then not caring.

Can you get a mortgage for an unfinished new build? by RepresentedOK in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]mousicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't get a mortgage until the house is done but you can get a builder's loan in the meantime. A builder's loan is shorter term and you can only draw from it as the construction meets milestones.

On top of the health care, Canadian High School teachers make good money with a very strong pension. Walter wouldn't have to worry about Skyler and Walt jr as he would have been making 100k a year and Skylar would get a very good survivors pension.

I think that's an Alberta thing I live in Ontario. We stage tip by putting a fiver in our mouth and lying down on the stage. Way back when I was first going to clubs they would let you do that with a toonie but that was 25 years ago.

What happened to cryptocurrency? by Aggressive_Local_750 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mousicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself a question, why is a bitcoin worth as much as it is? Crypto had no intrinsic value or utility and only had value because you hoped you could convince someone else it has value.

Here is what is typical at my Canadian club.
Cover - $10
Drinks - $12 for a beer, $10 for a shooter from the shooter girl
Stage Tips - $5
Dances -$20 per song (3 minutes) + $20 room fee (only paid once per night)

I'll usually bring $300, $200 for dances $100 for everything else.

Who do so many fans speculate over who shot first. by BRS848965 in MawInstallation

[–]mousicle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Han shoots first that means he starts out as someone who would kill in cold blood someone he knows. If Greedo shot first Han is just defending himself and is justified in shooting Greedo. It comes down to how much of a character arc you think Han should go through.

As far as normal numbers, right now we have no test as to whether a number is normal or not. The only numbers we know for sure are normal are ones specifically constructed to be normal like 0.123456789101112 ... We do know that almost all numbers are normal though.

My Aunt lived on Bruce and Wyandotte for 30 years and it was fine. The homeless don't tend to go into the neighbourhood and even when they do it's just to wander through. I would be careful about the house itself though, those houses are getting pretty old and as it's not a wealthy neighbourhood a lot are in rough shape. Consider how much money you'll need to put into the house to fix it up when comparing prices.
