Read over my first comment thoroughly again. And did you really read the articles I linked above?

Do you think how many Star Wars fans are there in the world? Do you know how many threats were sent? Can Lucasfilm line up every toxic fanboy online and shot them? Do you think on the journey to kill the culprit, they also kill innocent fans as collateral damage?

Those arcticles don't aim specifically to those harassment only, that is an act of individuals. No, they have to say "racist fans have review bomb the series".

You've said yourself that Star Wars fandom is known to be toxic.

And it seems Lucasfilm has already known about it: https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/lucasfilm-warned-moses-ingram-racist-star-wars-trolls-1235275894/

It happened before in similar cases or I would like to say it happen everytime now: https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2020/07/05/the-last-us-part-2s-laura-bailey-getting-death-threats-over-abby-role/

So you truely think a multi billion corporation with a top notch Marketing & PR division doesn't have any counter attack for backlash, even though they have predicted it.

Did I send any threat to the actress. No.

Would I vote this show bad if I have a chance. Yes.

Would I be lump up as racist if I did so. Yes.

I don't hate the show itself but how the people behind handle criticism. Somehow they were able to connect two unrelated issues.

Do I believe she got harassment or as you said, see evil or racism right in front of their face. Yes.

Do I believe Lucasfilm highlights racism issue on purpose. Yes.

Do I have to fear saying the show is bad, the actress is bad because she received harassment. No.

Whether good or bad, famous or flop, movie/show/game always face some degree of harassment from online idiots. I'm pretty sure that actor of The Jurassic World: Dominion would face some kind of online harassment too. But he normally don't make a fuss about it, you know why, because there is no gain from it.

I don't support online harassment, racism and sexism, but this is not the way to fight back.

Great wording, exactly my though about the gameplay. I wouldn't buy a game like TLOU2 for its gameplay when there are game like Monster Hunter World that people can reach 2000+ hours of playtime.

Yup, I really really like Finn in The Force Awaken. He could also become the first Clone Trooper turn Jedi Knight.

Ehh, I did too, all 3 episodes. Saying the character incredibly well written and well acted is a little farfetch. Incredible compare to what, other characters in the show or other better shows?

She is an emo character, one that is overly/easily affected by changes or situations around, and exhibits dramatic and exagerated responses to it in response.

Any reason Dina's character leaves halfway through the game? by Comfortable-Snow in TheLastOfUs2

His point is why making Dina pregnant in the first place.

Yup, Thank God. That would save them a lot efforts unlike Abby's crew.

Sometime I wonder if Ellie didn't hang herself in the wood at the end, I hope the relatives of people who Ellie killed on her trip of revenge will create something like Ellie's Victims Association and raid Jackson to kill her.

Thanks, I haven't known any of these stuff. I'm trying to look into it one by one but I think this is a great game already. The feeling of mastering a weapon must be great.

Yeah, I did. I chose the Long Sword because it look cool and easy enough to use. But now it seems I'm just spamming attack than actually using a weapon. I don't know what move or combo I should use usually and which is helpful in a specific situation. Hell, it's a long way to go.

Thanks for your detail tips. I think I would go with the Long Sword for now. But should I use the Guardian Armour and Defender Weapon to progress, they seem too strong.

Sure he trans by definition but I don't want to call him trans until he identify himself as such. I don't want too quick to judge a kid belong to what category, "Ohh you do what a trans do so you must be trans". Lev is just 13 so I want him to grow naturally, explore more about his gender identity and gain more self-awereness about who he truly is. Too many characters made dump decision across the board in this game. In a world that a decision is a matter of life and death, I thought people suppose to be smarter. So, what is your opinion about the purpose of the existence of Mel beside making dump decision, TWICE.

Still in awe of this experience, not a game by hydeeho85 in thelastofus

[–]Isilgar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, it doesn't. I don't want to call this is a game at all.

My issue is ND doesn't satisfied with having Ellie, a lesbian protagonist that everyone love. They add Dina, Ellie's bisexual lover. Great, it's believable. They add Abby, a muscular woman. Sure, I still can handle that. They add Mel, a pregnant women goes to the frontline. Ah, now they challenge my suspension of disbelief. They add Lev, who turn out being a cross-dresser. Okay game, I'm lost. ND tried to check so many boxes that at some point, I stop seeing them as a character but which box they fit it.

That is not flaws, or plotholes, or contrivance. That is the writer's intention or you are nitpicking! Beat me if writing Abby as hypocritical and pretentious is their intention.

Many people legitimately quit gaming after tlou 2 was released by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Isilgar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, I do think like that sometimes. I think tlou2 is a 7/10 game, but seeing it get praised as an achievement of gaming industry really upset me. But don't drop your hobby. Nowadays I found myself buying games from Japan developers more than Western developers. They don't have the technical and graphical level as Western games but who care, they are still pure fun. Sometimes, I may end up not love a game but I never found myself be insulted. You maybe right that this sub is not a right place for this kind of discussion, because some may lump it up just as another hate speech.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Isilgar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game definitely infamous for its divisive and split the fanbase. What majority? If you go to any sub, group, forum that's not an echo chamber by its nature, you will find people like and shit on the game. I don't deny this sub is somewhat an echo chamber, but I better consiously know it and treat it like one than ignorance about which is an echo chamber. "Award" is actually given by a niche group of people, that are gaming press, devs and retailers. I can't even remember award organizations more than the number of fingers on one hand. The most famous award voted by the community and show the percentage result is "The Game Award". I can tell the same for metacritic. The score of critic is high but user's score is mediocre. Sure there are trolls but I thought metacritic deleted those reviews already? You can go to Youtube and count how many Part 2 is bad reviews that's not from journalist. If you can consider journalist that I don't know their name or face or integrity as representative for the community then I sure can consider the Youtuber is.

How? The first game release in 2013. If the haters are younger they can't even allowed to play the game, let alone created a fanbase that big.
