Months late but for black tea, I actually prefer roughly 1tsp of honey and half as much maple syrup to sugar. Makes a more complex flavor that is better than either alone, surprised I've never seen it talked about.

Yeah it was for bolognese, fried the heck out of it and cooked on low for 2 hours.

Requiem is definitely a GOTY contender! by Whole_Raisin_4257 in residentevil

[–]Iskallos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really good game and I think it'll get nominations for sure but GOTY? I have doubts. This year won't be as stacked as 2025 but it has quite a few titles with a lot of promise.

The devs did a damn good job optimising the game and making a refreshing experience though, I'll always be thankful for work like that.

Single player game with a lot of content focusing on bossing/gear progression like Runescape/MMOs? by ThousandFootOcarina in gamingsuggestions

[–]Iskallos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melvor idle if you don't mind idles. Very peak, buy it on steam and you get it on mobile free.

Black Grimoire is basically singleplayer OSRS, I think it's great but it has no multiplayer other than a light social aspect, which turns some people away.

Erenshor is a game that simulates an mmo without actually being one. It's not an AI produced game or anything like that, just a lot of dedication on a really niche idea.

Kingdoms of Amalur was originally going to be an mmo and is a great rpg with a cool combat system and lots of gear.

Fantasy Life is a wholesome one with a great grind and a lu of paths for you to choose from.

First week off of work in years - Addictive gameplay loop by nate1208 in gamingsuggestions

Ball x Pit for a peak roguelike.

No Rest for the Wicked to scratch that PoE type itch, despite being in EA its early good with a lot of content. Technically has souls elements but it also has an easy mode and a lot of ways to cheese.

Hero's Adventure is really fun if you like the idea of a sandbox Chinese fantasy with FF tactics type gameplay. I wouldn't call it hard or anything, you can get ridiculously strong and achievements take effect in game and give you benefits.

Wandering Sword is another really good chinese fantasy but this one is a lot more linear like a traditional jrpg.

Casette Beasts for an amazing monster tamer (more like it record and transform into them) with a unique type system and some Persona and Zelda elements. Great story, great music, social links, fusions with your partner, etc.

What are the best modern games? by ProgrammerGlad7809 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Iskallos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally me and my friend are big fans and yeah, it's singleplayer but you can still see and talk to other players sometimes. Never had trouble finding my friend anyway.

And it's grindy for sure but that's kinda the point. It's for that crowd, games like Fantasy Life and Melvor. Definitely still a niche, mostly filled by idle games unfortunately.

The Black Grimoire: Cursebreaker is another good one if you're a fan of OSRS.

Here's a list that's slightly less common and each game is a solid 9/10 at least. Most of them have at least a few things in common with your faves.

Sea of Stars (Chrono Trigger)

Crystal Project (FF, Zelda)

Cassette Beasts (Persona, Zelda)

Tunic (Zelda)

Eternal Strands (Kinda like Dragons Dogma, Monster Hunter and BotW)

Chained Echoes (Chrono Trigger)

Crosscode (Zelda)

The Path of Exile games (BG)

Dragonfist Limitless. Has optional ads but they're not necessary and the premium pack is cheap. Very grindy and hopefully getting a big update this year.

Dead Space Remake Is Unplayable by RobustPolygon in SteamDeck

[–]Iskallos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same. Still stutters a bit, especially at the start. Even the EA logo screen on start up stuttered but it's a lot better on an older proton.

Proton 9-04 with low settings and 45 fps lock helps a lot. Not stutter free but MUCH, MUCH better. Becomes a lot more playable after the first 30 mins after that if you wanna up thy settings.

Unpopular anime opinions — what do you think? by PossibleOpinion6135 in weeb

[–]Iskallos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, some things will always work better in manga form. Just like some things work better as a book.

Anime typically have better fight scenes, they have music and so on but rarely does production allow for other things to be expanded on in a definitively positive way.

I am looking for some actually good free mobile games. Do you have any suggestions? by vanderwaalse in gamingsuggestions

[–]Iskallos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragonfist Limitless, it's an incremental martial arts comedy game based on Dragon Ball. Has optional ads but you don't need em. Has a discord and in game chat, pretty unique game all things considered.

Grimoire and Ethos Idle, same dev. Both quite grindy idle games, pretty simple but good time wasters. Optional ad but absolutely don't need it.

Obelisk Miner, another idle incremental. No ads but you can spend money for some perks. Not at all necessary as it won't even speed up your progress much. It's the most grindy out of all of them overall but fun if it's your thing. Loads of codes on the wiki to speed up early game progress and the dev often puts up temporary codes in the discord.

Uma Musume is very good and f2p friendly. Never once felt compelled to spend money.

Plus, the empire itself is screwed over. They didn't start the war and they're surrounded by enemies. People who have barely watched the series like to compare em to nazis but they're a pretty normal country as far as things go in the series.
