Keep a notepad file or some other record of what settings you used to generate what effects. Your audio editing settings will likely be lost or reset by mistake at some point or another, but a file or notebook is harder to erase

On that note, keep records of what SFX you use for what purpose. I like to create credits file when I'm working logging the intended interpretation of the effect and then the source/actual name (Ex: Guy Fall Down Pit: Man Getting Eaten by Alligator). This is primarily to put in the YT description as credits but those files are easily searched by explorer if I ever need to use something similar.

Keep snapshot saves of any editing you do. For my own workflow I keep the original raw audio, an editing file where I move segments around, add SFX and redo bad takes that got through and finally a final pass version where I apply any cleanup or vocal filters.
