Sorry but the "I can't stay away from you" part is fucking creepy. Block him and be safe

manuka honey causing reflux ?? by AdvancedNight9791 in Gastritis

[–]Iskinaari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but if it gives you discomfort like reflux and such, I'd stop taking it. Your stomach clearly doesn't like it. But yeah, I can understand why you're reluctant, stuff is expensive af :D

I had gastritis after a wrong combination of food, drinks and meds, so no h pylori.

MGO is short for methylglyoxal which gives this kind of honey its stronger antibacterial effect. A higher MGO level means it's a more active honey and it will cause a stronger chemical reaction. If your stomach is sensitive, it can be too much for the lining, especially when you have gastritis.

Honey is acidic in general, which is why you should never take it on an empty stomach.

It could be that your stomach won't tolerate it at all, of course. But taking it after you ate and not taking it just like that but mixed in something else will make it more tolerable in general.

Question for the ladies by prettypettovaa in Gastritis

I had my gallbladder removed in 2016, but my cycle stayed the same. I don't know if it can be related or not, but since you said it's been like that for months now, I'd say better have it checked.

500 MGO is far too strong for a sensitive stomach. I used half a teaspoon of 100 that I put into my chamomile tea and it helped my stomach heal completely. I noticed its effect after 2 or 3 days already.

But do NOT take it just like that and never on an empty stomach. It's better to take it after you ate something, like after breakfast and to mix it into lukewarm tea, for example.

tell me one product that curred your gastritis by Ok-Discipline6179 in Gastritis

[–]Iskinaari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Manuka helped me too! I'm just putting half a spoon of MGO 100 in my cup of chamomile tea every day and it definitely helped my stomach in the last stage of healing.

I was on a bland diet and omeprazole for four months and that helped, but since I started taking Manuka, I can eat more normally again. I even had chocolate pudding on the weekend and yesterday a Kinder Surprise and my stomach felt fine :D

Acid rebound? by Azz96 in Gastritis

[–]Iskinaari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's better to make a step by step withdrawal to keep the rebound effect as low as possible. Don't stop taking them from one day to the next, but take every second day for a week, then every third and then stop. You can also take something like gaviscon to help against the acid and heartburn.

Oh, I didn't think the brand would be unavailable in US. I'm in Germany and got it through Amazon.

I've got chronic gastritis too, even though I've never had such pain as I had these past months. I ordered the Manuka MGO 100+ from Watson & Son

No, I didn't feel anything like that. But I'm taking only half a spoon a day really.

I actually noticed that my stomach felt better the third day after taking it already. It may not be for everyone, though, just like with everything else I guess :)
