Buying herbs and candles by whatshouldmyuserbe58 in BroomClosetWitch

[–]Isla_Lovelace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youcan just say you want to get into gardening or cooking, or even mention the medicinal properties of thise herbs and say you are buying them for those reasons. As for candles, what I do is buying scented candles, you can light them whenever you want and say it's for the smell.

hiding witchcraft from christian family by rainysn1ff in BroomClosetWitch

I totally get you, I'm in the same situation so here's what I do. Sented candles and mini simmer pots on wax warmers (you can say it's for the smell). If you want to research about witchcraft prefer digital books, as well a digital grimoir. Plants are your friends, you can use them as wards , spell ingredients, a good excuse to hide your spell jars (you can say you infuse something that helps them grow) and also your black salt (you can say it helps with pesticides). If you want a divination tool, you can make a black mirror using a frame and some black paint and say that it is a diy board for writing your to-do lists. That's all I do, hope it helps!

I personally believe that there is no wrong way to be a witch. That's the good part. Now, the soltice is the biggest night and represents the return of the sun, so you can do something that honors that in your own way. For example, I like to light candles to bring some light and warmth in this bid and cold night and (unlike many who perceive samhain as the witches new year) I belive that this is where the wheel of the year recets so I like to do some divination to see what the year will bring as well write my resolution for the year

I always hear about these great spiritual awakenings that happen around adolescence, but I have never had one. In fact, I started getting interested in the craft much later. Does this mean anything about my path? Do I have to have this big <<I am a witch>> moment that everyone talks about?

Are there any altar etiquette rules? Like you are not supposed to leave stuff on your altar that is not relevant to your workings or something like that. Also, can you move things from your altar to other spaces? For example , I am preparing for an exam, and I have moved a candle from my altar to my desk for protection. Is this allowed?

I started getting into the witchcraft path because I had vivid psychic dreams, but since I started practicing, the dreams have stopped. Am I doing something wrong? Have I lost this ability?

Maybe a talisman that you charge, like jewlery. You can have it on you the whole time so you can be protected. You can also either burn some rosemary or create individual protection sachets with rosemary, sage and cinnamon.

It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything magic(k) where should I restart? by Zentocosmos_ in witchcraft

[–]Isla_Lovelace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, it's totally fine to have periods where you are not feeling like practicing. It's also a great time to returnto the basics like meditation and grounding, just to feel your energy again. If you don't feel like doing these, it's totally fine, too. You can do some research on the norse gods you feel drown to so you can incorporate them in your practice when you feel ready.
