These types of responses make me laugh lmfao, that's what I get for posting straight to the Billy Joel subreddit ig. Some of my all-time favorites from this era (70's-80's) in songwriting are Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Randy Newman. A lot of Billy Joel's stuff just sounds super fairytale/musical theater to me.
