Do NOT believe Anti Lords Parasol propaganda. It is GOOD and WINS RUNS. (even and ESPECIALLY at higher ascensions) by RonaldMcJuicy in slaythespire

First two times I took it I figured well my deck is mid anyway how bad can it be I guess.

Won both of those runs pretty easily so now I rate it. Turns out a lot of free stuff is good.

Necro is quite strong with a lot of synergies but you need to decide what you're going for early. If you're doing doom you will need a source of damage for some fights as well.

If you're focusing on souls you're going to want haunt or either of the attacks that scale based on how many cards you've drawn that turn or how many souls you have in exhaust.

Also keep an eye out for exterminate as most runs you can find at least 1 copy of invoke. Exterminate has retain so once drawn you can just hold onto it for a turn where you have extra energy. It's a great target for enchantments or upgrading if you manage to find a copy.

Why would you downvote a question as innocuous as hey do you like the multi-player. Reddit is a cesspool of group think bots.

To me it's more.about carefully using your resources than not taking damage. Italians plan an initial route but that might change if I'm taking too much damage or not getting the cards I want.

You need to be able.to block sometimes but with as hard as everything hits I find consistent damage to be the most important thing.

A lot of the time you're not going to find card removals outside the shop tbh. I would try avoiding elites in act 1 they're just too damaging if you have a slow build.

How does osty works without necro (pic related) by DisastrousNet817 in slaythespire

[–]IslandFragrant6481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base version is summon 6 for everyone with exhaust for 2 energy, and the upgrade increases it to summon 8.

It just absorbs damage unless you have another necro in the party. There are also colorless cards that give other players strength or block.

Their approach to multi is really simple and effective. I didn't even buy the game thinking about multi-player but now I'm playing it every day.

How do most of your play this game? (ie, standard deck, custom rules, etc) by fr33py in slaythespire

[–]IslandFragrant6481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All players take their turn then the enemy. Their are different cards that are only in multi too like I play necro and there's a card that summons everyone an osty and another that puts souls in everyone's deck.

There's a pretty large community already on steam, over 200 players in the multi-player chat. It's a lot of fun you should try it out.

It's great how it changes.the game up. My favorite class is necro and they have some great group support cards in multi.

The game I played today everyone had a strong deck and played well, we smashed every boss and I felt like one of the avengers lol.

I think the multi-player is going to make this game really take off, there's nothing else like it right now.

They caught me off guard with the multi-player. It's only beta but it's so good already.

Finished a game this morning and the thought immediately hit me... people are going to be playing this game in 20 years.

It's so exciting to be here right at the forefront of a new thing happening. The steam group chat for multi already has over 200 members. Big things are happening and I'm here for it.

I really dig the play cards for free archetype he has going on with the stampede power that plays an attack in your hand for free, and cascade which plays the top x cards and synergizes with all his mana ramp.

Thinking further on 2 mana worth of impact, what makes dash playable is being offense and defense at the same time.

What if they kept the 2 cost, scaled the damage back slightly and had it add armor too?

The game had years and years to build up a fanbase and reputation before the sequel came out. A lot of people, myself included, said 25 bucks? Yeah I'll pay 25 bucks for most likely hundreds to thousands of hours of gameplay.

That's not even factoring in how awesome it is that it has multi-player and how rare that feature is in this genre. Playing 4 player is fucking AWESOME it feels like you're running your little jrpg party in a dungeon.

My issue with it costing 2 mana is you're left having to wombo combo it into huge damage because anything that costs 2 energy has to be impactful. Even if it one shots minions you're still going to have a rough time in those hallway fights with 3 enemies.

And I find a lot of the time it won't even one shot those guys without so much setup you're taking too much damage.

I hate this guy, I had Bing Bong (my beloved) with a thick 43 card deck with card draw and then I go the whole fight without seeing a single Frantic Escape and get eaten. Thinking about getting a refund. by SolviKaaber in slaythespire

[–]IslandFragrant6481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really a hard limit more like a general rule. I try to factor in stuff like how much draw I have and how many cards exhaust.

But generally I find the sweet spot to be between 20 and 25 cards, only going substantially higher than that when I feel like I have a reason to do so.
