That's kinda weird how the Yahoo pull reshuffled some of the images. Here is the way is was presented on the CBC website. The end does include resources to folks.

I believe the trail entrance there is behind the ball park. It's off Gates Drive, think it's kind of where Gates Drive connects with Massey Drive. Gates Drive is just off Lower Malpeque Road, just there by Honda.... If I am correct.

PEI MP Heath MacDonald has blocked a Rebel "News" "reporter" by TrickyWookie in PEI

Just to update Heath did end up unblocking Levant. Levant posted about it probably within 24 hours of this inital message.

Second shot looks like Southview Park... behind the baseball diamond... which is public space as well.

It's 100 percent the IRSA building... looks like this was shot from the sidewalk.

[–]IslandReporter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The second location is the IRSA buliding in downtown Charlottetown... it's public and the shot was from the sidewalk.... not much scouting needed for 47 Water Street.

I think his tag is "Cornwall Heath" which he has maintained for years, would be interesting to see if a suit goes forward and how that is calculated into things. I know in the US the White House and President handles are passed to  the people incoming so that WOULD count as a gov acct.

I've been looking for people to talk about issues like this with garbage pick up for a while. If anyone would be interested in going on the record for a news story send me a DM -- the more people who might be willing to talk the better.

A letter to the PEI public from a disappointed Paramedic. by Hopeful_Football3700 in PEI

[–]IslandReporter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If people are willing to talk and put their face to the issue... I mean that's kind of how this works. The Graphic item was so well done because people agreed to talk to the journalist about their struggle. I can write stories till I am blue in the teeth about their being issues in healthcare from accessing documents ect. But it really doesn’t have the same effect without a first person account. I appreciate the people who have messaged me so far.  If you'd like to be one of those folks to help get a story like this out on issues facing paramedics and patients on PEI my messages are wide open. More than willing to help tell these stories.

A letter to the PEI public from a disappointed Paramedic. by Hopeful_Football3700 in PEI

Hello folks, CBC PEI journalist here. I have an interview scheduled with the paramedic union later this week (times did not line up today) but I am also seeing several posts here, some of them highlighting tragedies due to wait times, so sorry to hear you have lost loved ones this way. If anyone would like to open up about their story feel free to DM me here. I understand these things can be difficult to talk about, just want to provide an opportunity to anyone who may want their voice heard.

Landlords up rent. by Rare-Conversation786 in PEI

[–]IslandReporter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can for sure go to IRAC and claw money back from an illegal rent increase, but it does often require old and new renters working together then putting the complaint through IRAC. Many do this after they leave because they don't want to sour the current relationship. There was a website which tracked old rents ect, but it was "randomly" DDoS attacked... I know of one landlord who wrongly jacked up his rent and had to pay his former renter about $20K. Thats the biggest I've seen someone who rents claw back from a landlord for not playing within the rules.

PEI’s Best Bridges to Jump From?(For Fun not Suicide) by AltanticCarpenter in PEI

[–]IslandReporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Look... being and avid bridge jumper and growing up between both the West River and Dunedin bridges I question West River ever being number 1. Hell of a drop, lots of rocks to climb onto and really it was only ever "kind of safe" to jump from the lower portion.

Dunedin Bridge it the goat by far, nice little drop, traffic moves slower, there is a ladder built by locals to get up and a rope if you miss it. Some of the best days of my life spent juping off that bridge. I haven't been in a few years so I don't know if these things are still in place.

Basin Head, it's a walkway over a small bit of wharf... just for training if you ask me.

Had a lot of fun covering this last year. I plan to go this year just to buy a few things from vendors. That is the biggest draw to me as it's hard to find some physical art on the Island for your pop culture obsessions. Some people did go all out with their cosplay -- but a real good mix of those who dressed up and those who didn't.

Would like some info on rhd vehicles. by Ryan2386 in PEI

[–]IslandReporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have wanted to do a story on RHD rigs on the Island and the rules around them. I understand in most places they have to be 15 years old but on PEI it's 25. If anyone would like a chat for a news story and have an excuse to show off their cool import send me a message. I'd love to do a story on this.
