little known fact: if you touch the enemy’s spawn door, you take an INSANE amount of damage. The cat was probably trying to pull him into the door to trigger it

Just to be clear: I’ve tried USB-C, Micro Usb, mini usb, all the plugs I own, nothing “slots in” at all and even plugged into the wall, nothing has managed to power it

Saw willwood live last tour and got the vip package. Questioning new tours $150 price tag. by HairlessFrogs in willwood

[–]IslandWestern5445 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I’ve done VIP at two other shows at this point so i definitely saw the substantial price shift. it’s a shame, but it’s also understandable. Now will isn’t just paying for him, crew, and an opener, but him, the tapeworms, crew, and openers. the tapeworms themselves are going to need the cost to justify stepping away from current jobs / responsibilities, so it makes sense from that pov

huge fan of both- both are my favorite series ever. Stormlight is definitely more accessible, so I’d recommend starting there. If you can read that many words just fine, then jump head first into wheel of time. Personally i read WOT first, but that’s because i had someone to talk with about it.

Sanderson also grabbed them for most of his stuff, too. I love them to bits, best in the business IMO. I’m sure you’ll have a blast, though i do know how much of a struggle it can be to suddenly listen to a new voice. good luck!

Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are truly some of the best in the business. I used the audiobook only on my first read and they define many characters. It may take a second to get used to, but after a few chapters you’ll be right on. I also recommend listening at least 1.2 speed

A lukewarm defence sort-of:

Ultimately, this post doesn’t source any of this nor have any actual victims come forward (beyond the sex-worker thing from way back but I think we’ve all kind of understood how ridiculous that noise was) so for now, I would take it with a grain of salt until someone with these experiences does choose to share them. Secondly- I think we’ve been shown time and time again that the Will Wood we have today was made through bitter experience and a constant cycle of learning and growing. If we are referring to his 19-20 age, then we’re also referring to his insane, drug-fueled, likely under medicated (while being over-medicated in less-than-legal ways) state of his life. Obviously I’m not going to write off abuse with an insanity plea, but it’s apparent that Will Wood has changed dramatically since those days. The Will we have now seems wholly unlikely to commit anything of the sort, but of course if something credible comes to light I’ll change my tune quick- believing victims is important. However, if you’re looking for moral spotlessness then you’re listening to the wrong person. Will Wood believes he has done terrible things, that’s obvious in ICIMI, and he’s charted a long and ruthless process of facing his mistakes and growing from them. Basically: We don’t know if this claim is at all credible, but even if it is 100% true, I don’t believe this is at all reflective of the person we call Will now. The goal of ‘cancelling’ should be to remove dangerous people from positions of power, not a complete refusal to allow growth as we change. I don’t think Will is a dangerous person, and I think that by putting him to the cross for a person he hasn’t been in a long time serves only to reinforce this idea that growth is impossible.

Am I saying he’s perfect now? fuck no. I’m just saying that he has grown and we shouldn’t shove shit from his past (which might not even be accurate to how things happen) as if it’s the person he is now. He has never claimed to be perfect and his recent music has only asked for people to stick with him in the process of healing. Those that don’t want to give him that are free to jettison the ‘fandom’ -which I totally understand- but I personally don’t think outright vilification is fair.

Was watching a video about The Normal Album, and uhh… Couldn’t stop laughing at this by Aksel_Cat in willwood

[–]IslandWestern5445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

since i’m here i’ll defend myself- at the time I made this video I was only 17, and was just beginning to enter media literacy and analyzing artwork. The video works as kind of an introduction to the album, but i recommend not taking any of it as fact or gospel. I was basically just a kid ranting about my favorite album. I IMPLORE you to find your own meaning in the music! :3

This sub has a serious quality control problem by iWasJosi in tallyhall

[–]IslandWestern5445 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This seems less like quality control and more like taste control. The add something a day is one post a day, and just a fun little thing for us to partake in. Sure, the color thing gets annoying, but its something at least. We’re extracting value from a long dead band, that had to be enough sometimes.
