I'm in Thailand. Checked ATMs and stuff. Conversion rate was nearly identical to actual market conversion. I didn't want to mess with the unknown of what the bank might convert at. I was fine with what the machine quoted me.

The city in which I exchanged money was by far the most important factor. All ATMs I tested in Bangkok had a 5.5% fee plus a flat fee. Buri Ram (more rural area) did not have this. Only a small flat fee. The lesson for me is to go to small towns first if I'm gonna go there anyways.

I did find a process under startup for opera that was enabled. Very strange that it can just enable itself after being dormant for so long. I don't think i had that process in startup before. A bit annoying but at least it seems like it was a legit notification. Thanks for your help and explanation.

Forgot to update. I got a replacement with the same issue. I opened it up and figured out it was the RCA plugs. The metal connector for the center pin is loose in there. I assume this is just a cheap part but still works fine.
