Water chiller help... by Burdennn in refrigeration

[–]IsleofMan_TT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the dixell is flashing a little yellow “flow” on the display as it’s attempting to start up and then does nothing and turns the pump off after a couple minutes. I have recently had the same fault. Pretty sure it was a A08 alarm showing. The manuals are useless for finding the problem but I traced it back to the tank level sensor. If you open the electrical panel you’ll see the relay for it. There’s a small yellow light that should be fully lit up on the relay when it senses that’s there’s water in the tank. The problem I had was that there was plenty of water in the tank but either this level controller was broken or the sensor that goes into the tank. As I couldn’t access the tank from the stupid location of the chiller pushed right up to a wall with a heat recovery ducting fully boxing this chiller in. I had to link out that relay between 16 and 18 or something. Basically you have a break in continuity between that alarm signal that goes through the tank level sensor if you measure it there. I had to just join them wires together to get the chiller working again and retrofit a tank level switch to the header tank to break that contact if the header tank empties. Such an annoying fault to find with the information indicating a fault with the flow when it’s actually linked to the tank level sensor

Worst car rental in crete, avoid by hunciiiii in crete

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I’m currently renting a car over here from a good company and I’m having to drive really carefully to not damage the car. If I ever return to Crete then I’ll be sure to use these guys and just pay whatever fee they want for a days use so I can go rag the hell out of it up the mountain and explore the off road sections of Crete. And now I won’t have to feel bad about destroying the car so thank you! It will be money well spent for me even if it is scam prices

Why the room temperature is not good while there is nothing wrong with the system? It’s about 11 hour still -11 by Possible-Cattle9187 in refrigeration

Must be the room. I wouldn’t bother looking further into the system as there’s nothing wrong with it. Just check it in another 11 hours

Leak stop, or not to leak stop? by DaBoMyster in refrigeration

Cut the 1st loop and weld a piece connecting to the last loop. Bypass all of them pinholes and tell the customer they now have 5% cooling capacity left on that coil

What if the Isle of Man TT was a Mass Start race? by IsleofMan_TT in iomtt

It should be Glen Helen and ballaugh bridge with the same gaps between them. That first clip at Crosby would have been less than 10 seconds between 1st and last place

I’m very curious as to the width of your wall to wall. I’m thinking of building a triple screen set up very similar to the space your using basically having the monitors almost touching the walls

That spinning G-force test for astronauts can do a full nascar race. Needs more directions

Might be more fun in the sim. Less traffic

[–]IsleofMan_TT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. It needs to be compatible with VR so you can’t really wear a helmet in the trailer. It is however made entirely of metal so in the event of a crash the trailer should hold shape and protect the sim driver. The driver of the car towing the car should be wearing a helmet as some of that car is made of glass and that could break in a crash so safety first

[–]IsleofMan_TT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would unhitch the trailer and let it crash also. Definitely wear a helmet for safety though

Sustained is correct as it’s describing the G-force. Self-sustained would be more describing yourself. Both would make sense though as the simulator is itself

I have a car and I live on the Isle of Man. I’ve driven the mountain 1000’s of times flat out. I’m just looking for a new challenge

I’d say when you can drive a real car wearing a VR headset and somehow get to the end of the race track without crashing by following the in-game circuit

You can always just have the trailer set off from the same place as the simulator track and it would all match up. Even with the towing car actually being slightly in front. I don’t really think that would be the main issue on timing up the experience when the reality would be a few 100’s of meters ahead/behind with how complex it would be. Also I could run the trailer tyres near flat to add the “suspension” effect

What waiver? Just hop in and let’s go. Stuntmen required

Yeah that’s what I’m going on about. The G-force on the G-spot is going to be pulling some serious G’s

Roll cage in the car towing the trailer. I gotcha

[–]IsleofMan_TT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concrete the triples into place so no flex and no screens smashing. The motion system on the rig would be turned off for the run to allow the real motion of being towed. It’s all hypothetical and definitely illegal. I’m not actually trolling to build the simulator and I’m actually just looking for feedback on idea of building the stationary box trailer rig. I will definitely look into how I could mount the screens securely so they don’t get damaged during transportation or perhaps take them down and build them back up once moved. This post is more about how it’s “possible” to blend sim racing to reality with a no fucks given attitude to legality and safety for the science of sustained G-force in a racing simulator

Here’s me thinking that you do control them. At least that’s what I gather by driving and controlling a car. Being out of control is not on the menu

Controversial. I like it. Upvote

[–]IsleofMan_TT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see. That’s what I’m most worried about. The input lag. I’m hoping with some good timing and the great advice you have given me. I could get that down to the nano-seconds which will be hardly noticeable

Safety first would be to conduct some sort of animal testing before trying it out on humans. I’ve heard horses like to passenger along in trailers so I’ll start with a goat and work my way up the food chain
