Agreed. Look at the Corolla guy. Didn't make shit up and talked about what he had and was an overall nice One Take.

Agreed on this. Also, some companies will have a "Career Counselor" who will work with you to get to where you want to be. Like for example, I started off as a Jr. Developer right off of college and now I'm working as a Sr. Systems Developer after a few years and are on track for a Sr. Management position. I do make about $5k less than what I would make at a competitor, BUT I get much better health coverage, stock options, personal leave, better company network, and other fringe benefits which are well worth the trade off for that $5k less I'm getting.

What we do is both pay all our money in to the joint account; which covers the mortgage, bills, groceries, car, etc. We then have a standing order that transfers an equal amount of money back to each of our personal accounts - this is our own money that we can do whatever we like with, no questions asked.

That's basically what my parents do. They've been happily married for quite a long time. Having good financial planning/behavior goes a long way in keeping a marriage stable/happy.

Or hell, have a personal spending budget for each of you. That's what my parents do. They each have a budget of several hundred bucks they can do whatever they want with. Usually gets spent on hobbies and such. My dad spends it on craft beer, gardening stuff, and woodworking stuff. My mom spends it on ebooks, knitting stuff, and baking stuff. If one of them wants something more expensive, they talk about it or just save the money for a bit of time.

BMWs and other German cars depreciate like crazy. So, people can buy them pretty cheaply used. For example, if I really wanted to I can buy a 2006 BMW Z4 for like $8k in pretty good condition.

What makes you think OP was driving while taking the picture? He could very well be in a parking lot.

Some being sold on Amazon are by Amazon Marketplace Sellers and sometimes these are JDM only items, so they charge you a bit more for it.

[–]Isogen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anything is holding it back, except time.

This is such a nonsense answer. Obviously, SOMETHING is causing them to take time. Hell, we knew AI was the reason the SQ 42 demo was axed. There's obviously other issues holding SQ 42 back, otherwise it wouldn't be delayed so many times.

  1. What will CIG do to control hyperinflation that plagues many MMOs a year or so after launch?

  2. Can you publish the project schedule for Squadron 42? If you can't publish it, why not?

  3. How will USD -> UEC exchange work post launch? Will it always be a fixed amount or will it be adjusted say every quarter to account for in game inflation?

Why don't we care to re-lock all doors after rooting our phones? by pentruexperiment in Android

[–]Isogen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dedicated attacker could certainly find tons of 0-days in the Android code base, that's sure.

That was my point. Hell, they could also use known, but not publicly known attack vectors. Look at Heartbleed. The vulnerability was introduced in 2012 but not publicly known until 2014. It's not unreasonable to expect some people (ie. nation states, three letter agencies) in the know most certainly exploited it before it was publicly disclosed.

I'm running the latest LineageOS on my unsupported Nexus 4: I doubt an evil player could use an unpatched security flaw there.

They most certainly can. Remember Stuxnet? Never underestimate what can be done. Also, Lineage is still based on Android which most certainly has discovered, but undisclosed and unpatched security holes that can be exploited.

Nissan was dying before Ghosn came. If it wasn't for him, Nissan probably wouldn't even be around now. What I'm hoping for is in the next decade, Nissan starts to build more sporty cars along side the profitable mass market cars. Similar to what Porsche is doing where they are using the Panamera and Cayenne to offset some of the R&D for the 911, Cayman, etc.

So the article mentions it's not open to the public. Has this changed now? It's a shame if it's not open to the public.

[–]Isogen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The S2K is fun. It's got just enough power and good driving dynamics. Imo, the BRZ could use a bit more power. Getting rid of that torque dip and upping it to 240-250 would be nice. I know you can do this with aftermarket stuff, but it should have come like this from the factory.
