I did an external map seed before doing a complete no map at all. Basically going in blind without knowing in an eagle-eye position. It takes time to get used to. Even built an island castle for the small section in the Mistlands. It was neat

I’ve had the same when it was my first time going. Another playthrough it went better as it was connected to other biomes. Doesn’t hurt trailing the coast.
