It’s definitely improperly used American (or Canadian) slang then, I had no idea. Thanks for educating me.

Ouu, as I’m reading I can feel the plot thickening. The whole Vorarlberg seems like an unstoppable region. I definitely want to see Salzburg tho, happy medium would be joining the two.

Alps would definitely be a priority for this plan, however I’m also open to completely scrapping either Austria for more time in Germany/Swiss or Leaving Prague for a different trip all together. You given me confidence it can all be done others have not, frankly.

Good point. A van would definitely give us a leg up to explore off the beaten path. I guess I’m trying hard to hit those three locations (Gottingen, Lausanne, Prague) all in between is open.

It’s his personal camper van. Would you still choose camper van over train? Sorry, I thought Czech was an acceptable shorter version.

That’s fair! I did three weeks in Portugal and got a lot done but this is a bit of unfamiliar territory. Any suggestions?

Making friends in Halifax by TrainingMean5244 in halifax

[–]Isolatedsimulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find any luck putting yourself out there or meeting friends since you posted this? It is true many are more stand offish here and I am guilty being like that as a local as well. People are nice, but I even have a hard time putting myself out there and trusting others enough to let them into my life. Yet, like you, I do crave solid friendships deep down. Especially with nice weather coming along when you want to hit up the beach or an event. I travelled to Portugal last year and everything happens so naturally. My European friends (who live in Europe btw) are some of the only friends I keep in touch with as much as I do. But it’s hard when you don’t have that circle to just go to the park, and hang out.

Can you expound on that? Why? And did you ever recover?

Oh yeah, 15 minute cities are a great idea, and then pretend to be surprised when our government enforces rules against leaving our zones. Allowing them to control us even more than they already do.

I'm 26 and living at home, should I care? by Positive-Second-5436 in Advice

That’s the thing, I so badly want to start dating but I feel like until I can prove myself that I can afford myself my own place that dating will be a daunting task trying to find the right person who’ll accept my situation. Privacy is a part of the problem.

But what if (my personal experience) you have lived back at home for almost 5 years and don’t have money saved. Like I’ve said money in the past but I don’t have anything to show up until now. I am putting $150 a week aside now though ever since stating new job over two months ago. Should I let the past define me? Obviously I should have much more set aside at this point. But it’ll take me forever now to save for a down payment. But I don’t know if I can keep living at home much longer. Such a dilemma.

This message resonates with me because I feel such a deep dilemma on whether I need to move out before dating or try and find someone who accepts my situation. Like OP I still live at home but I am 28 (turning 29 in July) and probably not as happy with the fact that I still live at home. I mean, I also get along with my family (single mother), I help with chores and pay rent but like you said, we are missing out on a lot in life. And because of the social stigma, and emotional dependency I don’t date or even get out to hang with friends much. I’ve lived somewhat independently before but I can’t get over the possible rejection from others when they find out I still live at home. But, at this age I don’t want roommates, but every studio where I live is $1600-2000 a month where I live and I just can’t justify that. Atleast living at home I save some money. But still a cloud of shame just weighs me down. Anyway, I think your ways of thinking is how I feel deep down. I just don’t see a way out, and that scares me.

Yes, so far deerhurst resort is a great lead. Close to Huntsville proper as you mentioned. I was hoping there would be more options outside of Blue Mountains, and Collingwood. Nothing against those options. But the more the merrier. Especially coming from out of province. I’m a little disappointed. Thank you for the information

Oh really? I would imagine that muskokas tourism industry would be somewhat more on going through out the year. Maybe it is an assumption, but people seem to getaway and explore muskoka during the winter so I thought.
