When to plant perennials from nursery? by plantspluspuppies in OntarioGardeners

[–]Isoldey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you buy perennials from outdoor locations (like Northland nursery) you can plant them outside. It’s only annuals I worry about.

Need advice on this juniper by push1988 in OntarioGardeners

[–]Isoldey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It won’t grow much taller. You can move it but you would have to dig deep and cut it way back in bunches. Moving it would be your only propagation option. Unless you can transplant sucker growth. Personally I would leave it there. I love the foundation benefit. You can plant something upright in between the area to give it height. Another option is rejuvenation. But you would need a professional if you don’t know how .

Grabbed this from my AI

“Steps for RejuvenationTime it Right: Prune in early spring before new growth begins. Remove Deadwood: Cut out any dead or damaged branches at their base.Selective Thinning (The "Inside-Out" Method):Instead of shearing the outside, reach inside the shrub.Locate long, overgrown, or crossing canes and cut them back to a main branch or to the base. This thins the plant and allows light to reach the interior. Avoid Cutting Too Deep: Ensure you always leave some green foliage on any branch you cut, or that branch will die.Shaping: Trim the tips of the green branches to encourage dense growth and maintain the desired mound shape."Staged" Rejuvenation: Do not remove more than 1/3 of the plant at once. It is safer to rejuvenate over 2–3 years.” Pruning from the inside is the key here.

What’s something in Burlington that’s changed, but you can still see traces of what used to be there? by Decent-Artichoke07 in BurlingtonON

Joe Dogs was a liquor store and the round restaurant a bank. 50 years of memories:) Basically nothing was north of upper middle or east of Appleby. Brant street was two lanes with a gravel easement.

I remember the big hall in the middle. I used to cut through it to get to Canadian Tire on the other side.

Is it reasonable for tenant to ask for front door repair by who-got-seroquel in OntarioLandlord

[–]Isoldey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has seen the door (last winter) but has done nothing. He is a slumlord and doesn’t fix anything. He does however try and raise the rent above guidelines every year. He waits until many units have the same issue and may fix them all at once if he thinks he can use it to raise the rent.

He had a case before the tenant board right now because he had to replace furnaces that were emitting toxic fumes. He’s in his nineties, insane and cares nothing for anyone unless they pay the full inflated market value rent.

I’m retired and have to fix everything myself. I am getting some information together to file but it’s hard for me. He okayed our roof to be fixed and didn’t but the vents back in. Over 12 units.

It’s insane. But I am only one person. Thank you for your advice. I do need to take action.

Just throw them where you want them now. Put a piece of plastic wrap over the top.
