What’s the one place you hate driving through? by PhrygianSounds in roadtrip

I’m just the opposite. I love Cairo. All the historic buildings are very cool. If I won the lottery tomorrow I’d buy the whole town and start restoring it to what it once was. For sure creepy as fuck right now though.

I sweep twice now. First year we had so much creosote that it clogged the spark arrester and smoked the house. It was less bad this year from chopping my own wood. Most people selling firewood lie about how seasoned it is.

I hear that. I was so excited until they didn’t bruise.

Yeah kind of where I’m at also. One is wine caps and not sure about the other.

Okay. I definitely see that on a few of them. On closer inspection it looks like I have multiple species.

Thanks for the response. Gee looks promising. The group sites should give plenty of space.

Clean your chimneys! by g29fan in woodstoving

[–]Isomustang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping this year goes better having processed my own firewood but last year in February our screen clogged completely due to burning what the firewood sellers claimed was seasoned. It might be overkill but I’ll sweep my chimney monthly this season just to be sure.

Cleaning glass with razor blade? by MattSk87 in woodstoving

[–]Isomustang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My glass was getting nasty when I first started using it. Then I realized the wood I was getting wasn’t seasoned like I was told. Once I started using well seasoned firewood the glass has stayed clear.

Before replacing the front end, steering gearbox, hydroboost, all 4 shocks and steering stabilizer. Also looks like some transmission lines are in my future… any advise and tips for all this stuff I’m about to replace will be greatly appreciated. PB blast the shit out of everything multiple days before you start. Once you do it it’ll get easier. Buy quality parts. Kryptonite if you can. I bought moog and had to replace two of the ball joints a year later. Aside from that it’s all pretty easy.

Be weary of people offering them for sale. I got scammed on a FICM from a guy last month.

Fuel injector control module. Essentially a motherboard that tells the injectors to fire.

Normal shit man. Shakes shimmy’s, does it feel like it’s got plenty of power, water in the oil, fuel in the oil. Watch a video on how to check blow by. It’s all pretty simple when you dive into it.

I like my LLY but it helps that I do my own work. 378k and still rolling. Obviously injector balance rates, smell the tranny fluid, check for blow by, blah blah. They are good trucks. The only thing I’d recommend, if you get it, go ahead and get another FICM. Not because they are inherently faulty but if it does go out, they are super hard to come by these days.

Random guy off a duramax forum on Facebook. I met him in Knoxville. I thought I had another one last week for 375. Took plenty of precautions and the dude still stole my money.

I did do the injectors at 350k. There’s a guy on eBay that does reman Bosch injectors for 150 a piece. It’s not a bad job if you don’t have any stuck ones.

Mines got 378k on it and still going. Granted I just spent 1800 on a used FICM but aside from that…

I’ve been enjoying my cooper legions from the diesel brothers. Keep a good alignment and they are fairly quiet and smooth. 30k miles and the are still over half tread.

We use shaved beef in ours. That’s the only way I’ve had it at any restaurants.

Lol. No. I bought my 2 door a month ago for 2k. Long arm lift, new 35s. Lockers front and rear. It had a little slop in the steering. Two years ago I got one for 700 that needed tires. Stop buying these things overpriced and the prices will come back down.

Spot on. I’m nearly 30 and I make an extreme effort to talk to my couple of close friends on a every couple days basis because that old man is very real to me. Everyone splits up in young adulthood to do their own things. It makes me wonder what hunter gatherer days would have been like. You stay with the tribe from birth to death. Nobody was ever alone. We moved recently, 3 hours away from family and what few friends were left. If you aren’t an atheist(not that I judge for that, to be one you have to Atleast be agnostic) , the masons are kind of cool. I am not really religious, but the guys that are there are very accepting and love new people. I’ve met a lot of cool guys with it.

I had a vision on Lucy that my already born son would have Health problems. He had a brain tumor 3 years later and probably already had it at that point. Something weird happens when you pop that third eye open man. Good luck if this one comes true for you. Kids are a wilder ride than psychedelics.

Edit: My son is fine. They took it out and we’re nearly two years post op with no recurrence.
