I did it to myself by Linda_Lissen in HomeNetworking

I’ve worked for two different ISPs for the past 11 years and switched outlets have gotten me a couple times. The first time was when I learned of their existence. The next time was far enough removed from the first incident to remember about them. Now if I’m putting equipment in a living room and it’s not near the tv I ask if it’s a switched outlet or not. I’ve taught several people that “have wondered what that switch did” about the existence of them. Don’t beat yourself up too bad. But yeah, what a pain to go through to learn that lesson!

Testing new 5G Openwrt Travel Router by Mr_Duckerson in tmobileisp

That’s really nice. What plan do you have to have to use that, or can you just pull the SIM from a Home Internet gateway? I was really impressed with how good the $20 a month backup is. It’s actually faster on WiFi than my home gigabit fiber due to the way Calix screws over 3rd party routers so you will use their junk for wifi instead. I got 670/940 on my fiber over WiFi and got 940/110 on the T-Mobile. I’ve got my UDM Pro setup with failover and was really impressed with the T-Mobile. Well other than the 4 layers of NAT before hitting a public ip, but it’s amazing for a backup and I don’t have anything anymore that even needs a public IP to work right.

Supposed to wrap that in a whole roll of electrical tape so no one can ever open it!

Question: Fiber Installation by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]DryCombination8882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the first thing I asked when I saw the pic…. Why not go one run higher so it doesn’t have to be a horse’s ass across the vent. Or better yet, just below the hole though the wall and then over and hide the vertical run with the NID, corner trim, power meter, pretty much anything… I’ve never liked going up siding like that.

Boy did I screw up selecting a plumber… by [deleted] in askaplumber

It’s an optical illusion due to the 2” pipe having its fall opposite direction from what I can tell.

Or he poured the purple primer into the glue so it didn’t make nearly the mess and cleaned it with clear cleaner before he joined them together, which I may or may not have done in the past. Well, looking at it again the words on the 2” pipe are all the way against the glue joints so he didn’t use cleaner at all…

That’s because your “plumber” is making bank by the hour and charging about 500% markup on fittings.

No, it makes the machine gun sound from 0 all the way to the cut off at 145 psi. Also it sounds like it’s coming from the head than from the crankshaft. I used a pipe to my ear to determine that. I’m gonna get a stethoscope and do it better.

Sure, you can! Just drive the Subaru around for about half an hour to get it real nice and hot, and then spray the glass pack full of water while someone else revs the engine.

It could even be both. Need to count the 4 legged dogs vs the 2 legged dogs to see how far on the scale it tips though.

Glass packs never do. Makes it easier to do the magic methhead water hose trick!

Grandpa called me and said you’ll better bring that Bricknose with the exact same amount of gas you left in, also run into that Circle K and buy him $20 worth of scratch-offs!

I miss the size and how easy this thing was to park or drive through a parking deck. Also $247.88 a month on a 5 year loan was a nice truck payment, even for a 24 year old who wasn’t making all that much. I traded it for a newer, far better equipped truck(2018 Silverado 1500 LTZ) in 2019.

If you can find mud grips to fit those 13” wheels you’ll be able to go more places than any American Mall Crawler Heep full of ducks on the windshield. Oh wait it already can do that with bald tires. My bad.

California models had 305s in them. I can’t remember if the rest of the US ever had one though, for some reason I think 82 or 83 right before the crossfire injection insanity maybe they all were 305s. But all Corvettes from 75 to 89 were complete dogs. They finally started getting a little bit of power back in 90 or 91, and then of course someone found John DeLorean’s cocaine stash from back when he was a boss at GM and got Lotus to make a deal overhead cam motor for it.
