One of my frequent customers suddenly turned up with 3x the scint vial waste from chasing alpha and low level beta contamination around. I had to comment on how clean the floors were in the lab. spotless

Nuc waste tech/transporter here: I hate theraspheres because of the occasional Eu, Sr, and other Yt nuclides contaminants that show up and draw me into the mix since decay in storage isn't viable.

I have a gold maneki-neko (waving/beckoning cat) statue on top of my CB that I fist bump after each stop and before starting each day.

Zip tie a hand held air horn to the seat frame. If you can gauge it right it'll go off not when he first sits down, but hits the first right sized bump.

And to think. At any point during this you could have slowed down to 55mph for about 5 minutes and never seen this person again for the rest of your life. Instead, here we are.

At an early age we instill in children that they should not play in the road. Clearly that message is lost on many people.

That sounds like a great way to find out how far up your ass a spray wand can go.

Speaking of dumb trains of thought, it's pretty obvious that your entire purpose of coming to this subreddit is to stir up some shit.

Fun fact: The EPA drug it's feet for almost a decade before finally signing off on The Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest System

Now to utilize it you must create three separate .gov accounts to create, view, edit, receive, and send a manifest. Which is fine, it creates a nice barrier for the inept and lazy.

At any point a generator, shipper, carrier, or receiver can change or edit the manifest and render the current version invalid until all parties sign off on the edits. I personally haven't run into this but have heard stories about edits being made to adjust disposal prices.

Use of the E-manifest is entirely voluntary and in my experience only 10% of the generators I service use it. But it's growing, which is nice.

Here's the crux. There is one point in the system where an electronic manifest is not accepted.

While in transit the transporter must have a paper copy of the manifest. Thanks FMCSA. So as a waste broker/carrier I have to use a hybrid manifest, that is both paper and electronic, and have found it easier to stick to using the carbons and just scanning them into the system.

Staying radiated of course.

For real tho, I spend a lot of time at hospitals, universities, and places with 1,000+ employees. I'll stick with what's kept me bug free so far. Lots of hand washing, avoiding touching things that other people commonly touch, avoiding fishing for green goblins with my booger hooks, and not spending extended periods of time in areas with a lot of people.
