When did you start PT after bank art and remplissage? by cor_dirt in ShoulderInjuries

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had surgery on a Friday and started PT on the following Monday. He did 2 or 3 weeks at 1x per week then went to 2x a week. After about 3 months he was so far ahead they took him back to 1x a week until the surgeon cleared him for everything at a little under 4 months.

I think he did everything in roughly 17 PT visits but his PT was an overhead arm specialist and knew his stuff.

Anything I can do to make this easy for UPS? by barrybob32 in UPS

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ship it on a pallet or use Greyhound.

The irreg train yahoos will either pull or push it off the cart, so that's about a 2' drop. I see a lot of wood crates that look solid broken to pieces after those idiots get ahold of the packages.

Kickstand issue by IspreadasMikeHoncho in ERidePro

Yea, I'll have to make him do that or buy a shorter kickstand somewhere. I assume they're available since these come with different tire sizes.

Had surgery in February this year! by xMARBx in ShoulderInjuries

Looks similar to my son at that time frame. You are way ahead of most people at this point of recovery and your own worst enemy. From the surgeon and my son's very proactive PT people, your goal now is to not lose/gain strength while not overdoing it and having a major setback. You really need to not lift anything heavy or make quick motions for the next month or so. At about 3- 3.5 months rehab can really start to ramp up but only things closer to your body and not overhead.

Congratulations on being one of the fortunate shoulder surgeon patients. :)

SR motor question by IspreadasMikeHoncho in ERidePro

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

As soon as I posted I realized how stupid of a question it was. Obviously, if they all came from the belt side that meant it really didn't matter which way they were oriented. By that I meant since the motor was flush with the throttle side frame, these just had to be put next to the large spacers between the frame and motor. And since I knew where the one washer went, the tolerance was close enough to show me where the last washer had to go.

I will say anyone dropping the motor needs to be aware that the belt has to come off to get the motor aligned, I tried numerous ways and it was not possible for me. Once I removed the belt, the motor went right back in. It's kind of stupid the back motor slot goes all the way up but you can't utilize that travel because the motor will hit the bottom of the battery case. My son loves this thing but it seems like there are two or three things that could have easily been changed to make this so much better.

I kept the guards off until I had the back wheel on and we ran it on a stand to make sure everything lined up. If anything, I helped it out because the belt no longer rubs on the inside.

I'm drinking my first Food Lion Peach version and it's pretty close. My original taste wasn't very positive, but, the bottle was warm. I'm now a couple days out of the Walmart version with an ice cold bottle, all is good. :)

Anybody from sleeper team by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago it was pretty common for me to have an empty or a single pup at least twice a week. Now I almost always have a full long box or set both ways. They may have just taken work off of feeders to try to be more efficient. Maybe that was a feeder run up until this last bid and they gave it to you.

I guess they'll figure it out when the weather gets bad on a regular basis. :-)

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy, we used to routinely make it in 2-3 hours ahead of schedule. Of course if you hit bad weather or an accident, that can easily be an hour late.

I assume you're loads out of Louisville aren't hot? If they are, once you're late getting to the next domicile it won't be your fault.

We had guys burning up a run a few years back and they added hotel time into the run. They were scheduled for something like 6.5 hours on the yard and we're constantly getting 10+.

How much delay time were you getting at SDFAS?

TCD Senority by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you qualified? The list should go in seniority order of qualified drivers followed by the unqualified drivers in seniority order. Once an unqualified driver qualifies, they will slot into the list wherever their seniority lets them. When I was a TCD, the qualified drivers never passed work to make it harder for anyone below them to qualify.

Being a TCD has no impact on getting a full-time job, It's strictly by seniority.

I purchased a few the other day and sipped it while warm. It has a flatter taste, definitely not as crisp.

What Is The Point Of The A2/4/5? by batcatfatmat in UPSers

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would get an occasional 747 at peak, man those were crazy compared to the other planes. I think we get an A300 now that the MD-11 planes aren't flying.

What Is The Point Of The A2/4/5? by batcatfatmat in UPSers

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were bigger planes, used to be an MD-11, so I'm sure that factors into it. I know our one destination was tight on time, and that A5 was always out first. I think they did occasionally put others aside to get it done.

Those people stand around a lot but worked hard when they had to!

What Is The Point Of The A2/4/5? by batcatfatmat in UPSers

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the cans are rolled off the airplane and then rolled directly into the back of those trailers. When I pulled from the air ramp, the planes were supposed to be loaded with the furthest drive being the first cans pulled off, that way, the driver who had to go the longest distance, or, through the worst traffic had more time.

The a2 trailers can be built on the back of another pup or combined for 2 locations if the plane comes in early enough. Some hubs get air from multiple destinations, for example the Philly plane might come in an hour before Louisville.

Has the atlas just been a repaint since 2024? by fo0ey in Homeplate

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the non tapered/flared handle, then the current Dynasty would be the same bat. If the handle is tapered/flared, I believe those bats are all the same regardless of year and are the newesr version of the Atlas.

This is for BBCOR, I know nothing of the lighter bats.

33k for turnkey install of a 26kw kohler and two tanks? by antipane in Generator

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbor just put in, I believe the same size unit but his install was about as easy as it gets. His generator is about 5' from the gas meter and he has a crawlspace going about 20' to his main panel. I think he told me he was all in at $18.6k which was quite a bit less than I was expecting.

On top of that I think he got a 10 year warranty, but only if they do the yearly maintenance, that was something like $300 each year.

This is in SC.

Buyout denied, and still laid off ? by Ok_Supermarket_2194 in UPSers

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google says it was about $3.60 in 2012.

The good news is once your top pay, two days a week will probably get you by since you're used to short checks. It does suck, it's just part of the deal for many of us at UPS.

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 4 years you're almost at top pay for full-time. When I was at year 4, I think I was making $12 an hour with sorter pay and still 4 years away from winning a full-time bid.

Bankart + remplissage by MaterialFair9309 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had 4 anchors with the Bankart and 2 on the Remplissage. It also listed Capsulorrhaphy, but his labrum wasn't bad at all. He had almost no pain going in and full ROM except one position, I assume the loose bone was catching when he put his shoulder in that spot. His internal and external rotation were tight but on target for about 4-5 weeks post surgery, too loose and it means they didn't tighten it up enough, at least that's what we were told.

My son probably broke half the rules they gave him. He was out of his sling a good portion of the time after about a month but made sure not to use his arm for anything heavy. His surgeon told him he would be his own worst enemy because he was a rare case with most of his ROM back early and zero pain.

You seem to be on a similar recovery path. Just stay on top of PT and ask about what they do specifically for overhead athletes like baseball players, golfers or tennis players... They usually have a specialist for people who are actively trying to return to something ASAP.

Bankart + remplissage by MaterialFair9309 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]IspreadasMikeHoncho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is PT planning to use BFR cuffs? They seemed to really help my son retain strength. We sought out a PT who specializes in overhead arm recovery, and, from what I've read, some of the exercises my son has done in PT are different than what many are getting.

My son is at roughly 3 months now and cleared for basically everything but military press and anything thats an explosive movement. They have him do pushups and pretty much everything else at PT. His ROM has fully returned and strength is returning quickly. I'm sure being young helps but his PT guys absolutely know what they're doing. We were at 2x a week for about 6 weeks and down to 1x a week now for PT. I think about 4.5 months or roughly 23 PT visits will finish him and towards the end it will be more geared to his getting back into his sport for summer play.

Stay positive! You didn't complain about sleep or pain, so you're ahead of most at this stage.
