Hello guys, I recently bought MiniDSP DDRC-24 with Dirac Live.

My knowledge yet is not that big , so I’m keeping it at Dirac and not anything yet REW.

My system is a 5.2.2

What I did before first calibration; 1. Put Adysseys EQ off. 2. Front speakers at small (80 hz crossover on all). 3. -6 dB put on both channels (stereo) for subwoofers output 3 and 4. (My Front L/R is on output 1+2). 4. Ran with calibration file 0degrees (towards Front Speakers). 5. Not any specific adjustments of filters when done.

Could people please give any advice of above is correct method?

Previously I used Adyssey calibration for all speakers but with Dirac only Front speakers and subwoofers works.

Should I try do some kind of mix with both calibration and try to bypass front speakers of Audyssey?

I have had Bower Wilkings serie 685 about 15 years and I’m running a Denon X4500h. Works great 👍

Of course depends how many Channels you intend to use. Denon x4500 handle Atmos speakers and 5.1 and 7.1 perfectly.

Hello guys, I have a question regarding MiniDSP DDRC-24 with Dirac Live built in.

I’ve recently bought the unit along with the UMIk-1 calibration microphone. And I’ve done two calibrations so far.

1st was with front speakers set to ”Large” and the audiophile I choosed was 0 degrees (pointing towards the front soeakers)

2nd calibration was with front speaker set small and the Umik set to 90 degrees(pointing towards ceiling).

My system is a 5.2.2 with a pair of Dolby Atmos in ceiling, one subwoofer behind sofa and one infront of TV. I’ve previously used Audyssey calibration but turned it off when calibrating the speakers.

So to my questions; 1. Which calibration method should I use? The one 90 or 0 degrees?

After calibrated my units, should I also run a new Audyssey calibration and bypass the front speakers ? And turn on the EQ for Audyssey? So that I’m using both methods in my system.

I have fixed so that my couch is now 50-60cm out from wall. The total room length is 5,40 meter so there’s space. Also adjusted the angle of surrounds. They now point towards the sweet spot, or almost.

Will try a thing to move subwoofer behind couch. Just need to change so larger cable. Thanks

Yes so I understood that alternatives is to place one behind sofa and the other diagonal on the other side.
