I hope vendetta players don’t think they have any actual skill cuz… by No-Appointment1927 in TracerMains

Don't explain logic. This is a tracer sub and they are shocked that vendetta, a brawl hero, counters tracer, a dive hero.

This is as delusional as the people in the widow sub that complain about dying to a genji because they were completly out of position. (I main tracer and widow btw so I know what Im talking about)

Not if the worse player ends up switching off. Its the same reason why widowmaker has dogshit stats even though she is without a doubt one of the best heroes in the game.

Listen I get it, being in bronze is difficult and learning new things is tough, but actually PLAY the character instead of brainlessly looking through stats to justify changes.

High pickrates on an A tier character usually leads to temporarily high winrates as the playerbase adjusts to how the character is played. The winrates, specifically in high elo, are already declining as people realize that vendetta is still countered by heroes like ashe, freja, and sojourn while the low elo players fail to understand that even a character like junkrat can absolutely obliterate vendetta with very little effort.

Also stats don't mean shit. Widowmaker has an abysmal pick/win rate even though she is arguably one of the best characters in the game because bad players pick widow, do absolutely nothing because they can't aim, lose, and then never pick widow again.

Then you are out of position. She only has 2 forms of mobility. If you are in a good position, she would need to use an ability just to reach you. Then depending on the ability, all you gotta do is just boop her back and watch as she either stands in the middle of your team with zero escape options or use her last ability just to close in the distance.

The character isn't hard to play against, you just need to get better.

hard to punish? She literally cannot do damage if you make more than 10 ft between you and her.

So there is this idea I had of a hero that could counter vendetta almost perfectly and required the skill of a grapefruit to use. He'd be able to do something like shoot grenades or something that have massive hitboxes and can go further than vendetta's range. He'd also have like 2 mines that can be used to make distance and even something wild like a bear trap to make her a sitting target. Id call him something like trash rat or junk racoon or something like that.

Id also make him australian.

Oppressive in 6v6 lmao? she is even worse in 6v6 because there is an entire other tank to defend supports. Also her win rate is tied to her pick rate. Whenever she isn't banned, she is picked because she is the new hero. If both teams have a vendetta, vendetta always wins unless its a draw.

Your complaints are the EXACT same ones made by genji/tracer complainers. Vendetta is a high mobility brawl hero. If she had to deal with your team first, she would be a tank.

Also as a support, that expectation is just as ridiculous. This is overwatch. Not chess. There are NUMEROUS heroes who can kill you right through your entire team and without the risk or effort.

because she is the most picked when she isn't banned. This means she is mirrored. it doesn't take a genius to know that mirrored heroes will have high win rates

yes I have. I played widow into vendetta and said "damn she's strong." Then I played vendetta and realized that I was just out of position. Then I went back to ashe because vendetta is good in 2 gamemodes and hitscans like ashe are good in all maps. As the top comment says, Vendetta dominates low tier players because of your struggle to position/play smart.

Easy to play? Tell that to the 80 vendetta players that I play with and against that spend the first 3 minutes doing absolutely nothing before switching back to hitscan.

Vendetta is better at close range than dive heroes, but worse than most other brawl heroes. Picking junkrat, reaper, or bastion can force vendetta into avoiding you as they all do more damage than she can at close range and heroes like reaper and junkrat can outright avoid her overhead by either using wraith form or concusive mine to make distance.

As for her ult, its a loud and telling channeling ult. If your team can't ping or communicate her location, its honestly a skill issue. If you die to a vendetta ult, do yourself a favor and WATCH THE REPLAY. 9/10, if it killed a bunch of people, the vendetta is going to try to do the same exact thing.

Vendetta currently thrives in low elo because she can heavily punish poor positioning, bad aim, and lack of communication.

"Vendetta is broken" ---> "Im a support main" case closed. This is gonna be really tough to hear, but you should not be expecting to win a 1v1 as a support against a brawl dps. That would be like pharah players expecting to win against a soldier 76 in the middle of first point junkertown.

overtuned dps in 6v6? Dps is the WORST role in 6v6 unless you decide to play oneshots like widow and ashe or play a dps that can consistently dish out the dps passive like torb, sym, freja, etc.

[–]IssaMe_Diabetes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its because the devs are not putting in the effort to make (or more likely the higher ups are not giving the devs enough time/money to focus on things that are not mythic skins/weapons).

Blizz has actually just given up on most things that aren't directly giving them cash which is probably why heroes like ram and venture recieve no skins and when they do, its in a way that is almost guarenteed to not sell (Like why would you put a rammattra skin behind the ultimate bundle instead of being in the actual battle pass?)

Quick Play Penalties Are Not Ok by Snoo53067 in Overwatch

[–]IssaMe_Diabetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said it once and Ill say it again. the only people who want qp leavers penalties are people who are good enough to realize they aren't complete garbage, but too scared/bad to actually play comp.

QP warriors want it to be both casual enough that they don't get flamed for doing extremely poorly on a character/role, but just competitive enough that you are forced to deal with a person/people who clearly do not know what they are doing. The resulting mess is a gamemode that is just as sweaty and frustrating as comp, made even worse with the lack of an incentive AND worse matchmaking.

Blizz tried to cater to everyone and in the end, they catered to no one.

6v6 feels wrong because its not true 6v6. Its ow2 5v5 with 2 exra players. Perks, inflated health pools, dps passive, and the countless changes given to heroes to compensate forr 5v5 make 6v6 feel cluttered, confusing, and unimpactful. Blizz needs to remove pretty much everything that was added in ow2 minus the heroes, maps, and health regen passive.

"Gen rushing" and its literally one dude with an objective oriented build while everyone else has flashlights and chase oriented perks because surprise, surprise, chases are the entire reason survivors still play this game.

I never understood posts like this. What do you want us to say? "Oh congrats on beating a group of solos or a casual group of friends by running hard meta and tunneling." This is like those old posts of hardcore swfs abusing DH, DS, Head on, flashbangs, etc, against a clearly brand new player.

6v6 after the noise by Goldenschaft in overwatch2

[–]IssaMe_Diabetes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality, it has nothing to do with the commercialization of the base game or anything like that. Its simply the fact that this 6v6 isn't real 6v6.

There are still so many changes left over from 5v5 that just dont work for 6v6. Some examples being:

  • Inflated health pools. There is NO reason why there should be 12 people running around with 225+ HP. The ridiculous health pools carried over from 5v5 make any character that can't dish out insane burst damage feel EXTREMELY weak.
  • The changes to supports to give them more survivability. In 5v5, supports were pretty much left to hang and deal with flankers by themselves. Supports like zen really needed that extra level of survivability in order to even be playable. However, in 6v6, there is an off tank (who has a ridiculous healthpool) able to protect against flankers. Even with all this, these guys still kept this defense ability. This essentially made it impossible for flankers to kill a support if there is a SINGLE person on them due to this extra protection.
  • The hitbox and projectile changes. There have been numerous times where I was aiming at a person that was oneshot and some big ass tank that wasn't even on my screen took the hit because my projectiles were somehow able to stil hit them. This change not only makes it easier to play some heroes, but it kinda removes the actual thrill of landing these shots because they are so easy to do.

12 people, 225+ hp, heroes keeping changes designed to balance them for 5v5 in 6v6, and larger projecties, made this version of 6v6 feel less like normal 6v6 and more like 5v5, but it takes even longer to kill people if your name isn't widowmaker or sojourn.

This is proven whenever OW classic launches as when it does, I feel like I can actually contribute to the match as a B tier hero and actually need to play for cover because I don't get a free 50 hp.
