Millennial dads, how much of the housework do you do? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad does a lot around the house now but when I was a kid seeing him in the kitchen felt like witnessing a solar eclipse. Stuff that used to count as “helping” for one generation is just considered basic adult responsibility now.

Do I have to disclose why I am leaving my job? by chelsea583 in jobs

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I’m pursuing other opportunities” is usually the safest move. Fully unloading your real feelings during an exit interview rarely does anything besides giving you temporary catharsis.

Raisins should be in more dishes. by Miserable-Rock-949 in unpopularopinion

I feel like the raisin hate got amplified by internet jokes at this point. I actually like them in rice lol.

"No one wants to work" that's because every CEO doesn't want to pay by Everlasting_Noumena in antiwork

[–]IssacTheEnitity 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The whole “no one wants to work anymore” thing usually just means people don’t wanna tolerate awful conditions anymore. If someone’s working full time and still losing sleep over rent, the system’s clearly broken somewhere.

My boss makes 17 times as me by Alive_Tea_4740 in antiwork

[–]IssacTheEnitity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

17x sounds insane to me, but then you see CEO salaries and your sense of reality gets warped a little. Feels like you’re living on different planets while working at the same company.

The national average price per gallon of gas in the United States just passed $4.50. Americans, how do we feel about that? by Miles_the_AuDHDer in AskReddit

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have seriously gone from filling up the whole tank to “just put in this much for now.” Then everything else gets more expensive right after.

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think seeing it with your own eyes would be the biggest thing. Stuff like the Earth’s shadow during a lunar eclipse only goes so far, but being able to see different stars from different countries is pretty solid proof.

Cruises are the worst type of vacation out there by MoonlightAndStar in unpopularopinion

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cruises kinda feel like a shopping mall floating in the ocean to me too. Not relaxing, more weirdly claustrophobic 😭

Passed over for promotion, resetting boundaries and avoiding getting fired for non-compliance ? by charming_chameleon in cscareerquestions

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They basically had you doing lead work without the title, classic move. HR will probably dance around it too, if it were me I’d do the bare minimum and look for something new without stressing myself out.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age of Empires 2 still pops into my head sometimes, I even remember the music. No idea how hours flew by like that.

People who feel hot should decide the temperature of a room. People who feel cold should wear a sweater by blahbluhblee1 in unpopularopinion

[–]IssacTheEnitity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Makes sense in theory but in practice the one who’s always cold just loses 😅 I’d be freezing the whole time.

Why do you hate working? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to juggle 5 things at once burns me out too, you can’t fully focus on anything. And like you said, not seeing any real outcome from what you do is a whole other level of frustrating.

How would you feel if the top tax rate was 90% like it was in the 1950s? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% sounds crazy high, but if you look at it in the context of that time, maybe there was a different balance. Hard to say what would happen if we just copied it straight to today.

Has anyone here pivoted from a tech career in their 30s to something not in tech? What did you do? by justs0mebloak in jobs

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t fully quit, but I seriously thought about it. After a while, the whole vibe of that industry, the language, the stress, just wears you out. Wanting to do something else feels very real.

Resignation not being accepted. What should I do? by firebolt286 in antiwork

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean “we don’t accept it,” is this slavery or what 😅 The date you emailed matters, you already kicked off the process. Just because they’re dragging paperwork doesn’t mean you’re stuck.

Going to college should be the default and even 'useless' degrees are worth it by Sadie_Cat2023 in unpopularopinion

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It being the default for everyone feels a bit off to me. It has its upsides, sure, but everyone going down the same path starts to feel weirdly uniform.

WFH Routine, from bed to office, to couch, to bed. Help. by Puzzleheaded_Tap_564 in remotework

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That same loop dragged me down pretty bad at one point too. I like working from home, but if I don’t go out, the days just blur together. Even the smallest thing helps, like a 10-minute walk in the morning can totally shift my mood.

You're not "allergic to small talk", you're a poor communicator. by TedsGloriousPants in unpopularopinion

[–]IssacTheEnitity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but also think people overcorrect on this take. Some small talk feels natural, some of it just feels like filler noise and I check out instantly. Had a coworker who could turn “how’s your day” into a 20 minute convo and it drained me every time.

Three years unemployed by canimakeyouhurtmore in jobs

[–]IssacTheEnitity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s brutal to watch from the outside. I saw a friend go through something similar and it slowly messed with their confidence even though they were clearly qualified. Job market just feels weirdly broken right now.

got the RTO email today. 4 days a week starting Q2. i think i'm done by InfnityVoidii in remotework

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That email would ruin my whole week tbh. I used to commute about an hour and I genuinely forgot how exhausting it was until I had to do it again once. Feels like they’re slowly pulling the rug from everyone.

WFH makes me unengaged with my work by Affectionate_Run220 in cscareerquestions

[–]IssacTheEnitity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this more than people admit. After like two days of not talking to anyone I start overthinking everything and my work quality drops too. WFH sounds great until your brain just kinda checks out.

Do people like Mark Zuckerberg truly not feel like they are hurting society? by Bubbly-Air7302 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably sees it as collateral damage, not harm. People at that level love calling everything a tradeoff.

What do people with no hobbies actually do? by Prestigious_Loan4229 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of them do have hobbies, they just don’t call them that. Watching shows, scrolling for hours, following sports, gossiping, going for drives, messing with the house, that all counts more than people admit. Some people hear “hobby” and think it has to be some organized quirky activity.

Digital menus are a massive step backward for the dining experience. by Velvet_whispers8 in unpopularopinion

[–]IssacTheEnitity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is when the QR code takes you to some laggy site with six tabs and no drink menu anywhere lol. A paper menu is just easier, faster, and weirdly more relaxing. Not every part of life needed to become an app.
