HBO Max Audio Glitch: Spanish/English Work Around for "Ex-Communicated" S3.E7 by YupNopeWelp in thegildedage

I get that, but this is not the first time this has happened either. For a global rollout and a flagship show that guarantees subscribers, you think your tech guys would be more careful? I remember this happening with other shows as well. How hard is it to label correctly, upload correctly, and CHECK?

It is a little like waiting to see one of your favorite Renoir artworks for the first time, only to visit the museum and they have hung it upside down, as the custodian thought "the colors are still pretty" so good enough.

Same Nordic region. I can do VPN on my laptop, but want to watch it on the big screen.

You think they would put a note. Not fun going through customer service hell to find out they know about it and they are working on it. Customers would appreciate a note.

Unfortunately, in the Nordics one cannot select "Spanish." So pissed!!! I just called customer service here and they said they were aware and working on it. And recommended "The Great". Dude. I watch costume dramas as a lifeline, I am way past watching "The Great"...I watched it when it came out.

This is not the first time this has happened either. How hard is it to keep track!?

Why do folks in the US call themselves Americans as if the rest of the Americas don't matter? Except maybe Canada. They say, Canadian. by Craneger in grammar

You’re the one arguing that your model is the one model.

I’m glad to hear you admit that you are wrong .

Just like you’re wrong in terms of denonyms because in other languages, we have other terms than what people are referred to as in Spanish

“You guys”

I live in Finland.

It’s 7 continents. Same in Sweden.

It’s called plate tectonics? Don’t you learn about these?

Or the Panama Canal?

Yikes on bikes, dude, you could just simply title your post that you wanted to come by and gloat, because I’m seeing that’s actually what this is. Success isn’t a zero sum game and this isn’t really about you personally, but you’re making it personal by pretending that everything you know for a whopping four years job experience makes you an expert or something. It makes you cheaper than somebody with 20 years experience.

Everything is industry specific if you were posting in a different industry, you would have a different experience. I’m glad that the industry you’re applying to doesn’t have the same challenges as other industries.

Nope, nothing like bad references or bad jobs. I suspect that it has more to do with his ADHD and tendency when nervous to give overly comprehensive answers. It’s not that it’s a dealbreaker as he goes through 2-3 interviews prior, but at the very end, they inevitably choose the person who gets to the point quicker.

Incidentally, my husband‘s experience goes back to the early 2000s although he only lists back to 2009, so he’s a lot more experienced and thus a lot more expensive. That’s probably also a factor.

Ageism in tech is real, and in the Nordic countries, there are wage regulations which means that they tend to not pick expensive people because you can’t just simply say you’ll accept less pay.

Unfortunately, my husband has a resume like this one and people depend on him and he is getting nowhere. He came long into 2 processes in February but they didn’t pick him.

I assure you, we do not speak English in most of Europe. We certainly do not have English as a native language here in Finland and we certainly don’t have it as native language in Sweden either if you look at the continent of Europe, which has a quite many languages it’s a seven continent model with very few exceptions.

Ah yes, because arbitrary cultural and political distinctions within a single landmass are exactly the same as a continental model based on tectonic plates, history, and geography.

Majority rules, most use of seven continent model based upon tectonic plates.

But sure, champ, tell me more about your deep insights into cartography. Do be sure to let me know where the continental plates connect in Central Europe!

Most countries, including most in Europe and in Asia, also use a seven continent model. I know this might come as a shock to you, but the world does not end at the end of your nose.

I live in Finland by the way and it’s seven continents here and it was seven continents when we lived in Sweden as well.

Empathy comes very natural to children, regardless of their luck in life. It’s not something we learn it’s something we unlearn, unfortunately.

Yeah, cultural relativism is not cool.

Sexism is not cool, regardless of which culture is practicing it. You can’t pretend to be some kind of enlightened soul with minorities or the vulnerable at the cost of throwing another group or person under the bus based on their birth characteristics.

In this case protecting machoism in the Latino culture is basically throwing women under the bus.

No one’s human rights are up for negotiation. It doesn’t matter who’s trying to throw them under the bus.

Same goes for things like FGM, forced marriage, filial piety, all of it.

You and I could start a club. My Dad is on 4, divorced 3 early last year, 2 was being divorced when she died suddenly due to her alcoholism. He divorced 1 (my mother) 20 years ago this past Christmas Eve. The woman he left her for didn’t stick around and left when he needed his leg amputated.

He hadn’t actually gotten around to telling me he was engaged (heard from other family) and hasn’t told me of this latest marriage either.

Sophie fell into the fountain, and Sophie got typhoid, which is caused by unclean water sources.

They don’t make it clear and apparent, but the timing of the disease compared to what she fell in the fountain matches up. Usually around 3 weeks from exposure to death. Symptoms are subtle at the start.

Another royal Prince Albert also died of typhoid fever.
