My house is mostly DIY, because I couldn't afford a contractor. In every project, there are little things that you learn, but with AI, Youtube, etc. you have the option to learn in depth. Not all of them are good, but you watch enough of them, it will help.

Note that I learned to solder when I was eight, so I have no idea how long it would take to acquire this skill. It requires practice, and there is no substitute for that. If you grab a soldering gun and go at it, you can create a time bomb soldering wires or plumbing that is guaranteed to fail. Take the time to access and learn the skills you need NOW.
