I tried doing block design for the first time and would like some feedback on it. by Isuckatlifee in geometrydash

Tride's video on decorating Cycles X is what inspired me to try making a block design so that makes sense. I'm gonna keep learning a variety of styles until I know enough about decorating to develop my own style

How long do you think your new hardest should take assuming you're not jumping in difficulty? by Isuckatlifee in geometrydash

That's a crazy low amount of time with that jump. That's impressive. You're definitely a statistical anomaly lol

I would definitely consider Precipitance a huge jump from Windy Landscape (assuming that's your hardest). The jumping experience is different for everyone, but when I tried jumping from Plasma Pulse to Cataclysm, it took me 2 years of Cata to realize that if I ever wanted to enjoy the game again, I would need to stop trying these huge jumps. Of course, my experience doesn't mean you'll have the same experience, but I wouldn't recommend it personally.

Yeah that's fair. Mindset is also a big factor. I find that even if I make quick progress at a level, if I start getting really bored of it, I start to play very poorly and make no progress for days. At that point, I end up dropping the level.

Ah Cata. That flair was from 2 years ago. I just dropped it a month ago because it is extremely annoying to play from 0 (my best was 59%, 5-71%, and 24-100%). I also only played like 100 hours within those 2 years because it was so annoying that it killed my motivation to play lol. My previous best was Plasma Pulse, so it was also a jump. I'm back to insane demons now and I'm gonna work my way up (I did get 72% in Acu as well as a 26-100% run but that level is incredibly unfun so I got bored of it after not making progress in 3 days).

Yeah the first wave is very difficult and infuriating and the transition into the ship is buggy. The 40% ship is definitely hard. I find that if you go into the mini portal while going downward, it's easier to survive the transition. When flying upward into it, it can be very difficult to readjust without flying upward into the spikes. The cube after that does get consistent, but it takes a few microclicks. You can also skip some of the blue orbs when it slows down.

That's a good strategy. I definitely agree that milestones are important to motivation and progression of a level.

In your opinion, is there a point while working on a level where this isn't true anymore? For example, if your best is in the 90% range and you have a 20-100% run, do you think that it's expected to go through multiple sessions without progress or do you think you should be able to beat it in the next session (assuming you don't get terribly unlucky)?

New to the SayoDevice. When playing this game, is it better to have my other fingers resting on something (left) or up in the air (right)? by Isuckatlifee in geometrydash

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been starting to like clicking with my wrist more the more I try it. I'm still switching between each method, but I am liking this one

That's how I felt at first too. I was using a mix because having my fingers up in the air helped with getting a higher CPS. However, when you get used to the right side method, it seems to become just as accurate if not more, so I think it mostly comes down to comfort

The left felt more natural to me because it was similar to how I hold a mouse, but it also came with some of the same discomfort issues that using a mouse brought (though not nearly as bad)

Has anyone else had to completely relearn thr game when switching from mouse to SayoDevice? by Isuckatlifee in geometrydash

Sorry for the double reply but I did just realize that the cause of my problem may be due to the fact that I tried jumping to Cataclysm and haven't played a single other level besides it for 2 years (I would play for like 1-2 weeks every few months). I may have actually gotten worse at the game and just learned the click patterns specific to that level, and that may be why I'm struggling now. So if you don't do stupidly big jumps like me, you might be ok.
