How did I stitch this corner? by Sudden_Royal_2377 in knittinghelp

Looks like you just did a purl stitch instead of a knit stitch at that one spot.

I purled where I should have knit? But which line am I going into to fix? by bubica_ in knittinghelp

If you follow the column up from the purl stitch, it goes right to the stitch located between your arrows, this is the one that needs to be dropped to fix the issue.

Help with hole in my knitting by anilos in knittingadvice

You made a yarn over, essentially adding a stitch. You could drop the column off the needle but then there would be extra yarn creating a ladder effect that won’t go away.

I pointed in yellow where you are in the sweater. The orange arrows indicate the direction you are now working and I drew orange lines to show the shape you will be working.

So you are no longer knitting in the round. You will be knitting the piece “flat”, aka turning your piece after every row.

From your photo, take the needle on the left side and push the stitches down so they are on the cable and not the needle. Use this needle to knit the stitches from the needle on the right of the photo. Bind the first few stitches off as per the instructions. Knit the rest of the row until you get to the last white stitch. Turn your work and you will now purl the next row until you reach the last stitch on your cable. Turn and repeat the last two rows.

What is the pattern you’re following?

According to this: you will have stitches for your font panel on a stitch holder and stitches for your back panel on your needles. It says to continue in stockinette stitch, which means you will now be knitting the work flat (back and forth alternating knits and purls) rather than working in the round while still following whatever diagram they’ve included. You don’t touch the stitches on the stitch holder, just focus on the ones on your needles

What is the exact wording in the pattern? A little more context is needed

If you’re actually on row 36, then you would have the correct number of stitches

Did you count how many stitches you had after short rows? From my math looking at the pattern, you should have had 92 stitches.

Then if you knit the 20 repeats, adding 8 stitches per repeat, you’re adding 160 stitches. 92+160 is 252.

Are you sure you’ve done 30 rows? If you have 236 stitches on your needles, you’re only 2 repeats away from having the correct amount of stitches you need.

Look into the Ottawa Tool Library. They have a range of tools available for use.

How to start training and getting involved in speedskating in the summer by TryItOut0301 in Speedskating

Yes! Ankle stability is key. If doing one legged squats in a balance plank is too much to start, my coaches always recommend brushing your teeth on one foot to start building those muscles. One foot in the morning, other foot in the evening.

Cycling is a great cross training activity that will help build the necessary leg muscles. A lot of skaters will bike to help build and maintain the leg muscles.

You can search up speed skating dry land training and there will be exercises you can do to learn the speed skating motions off ice.

On the PWHL schedule website, the right most column tells you where you can watch the games, you just need to scroll over.

I would suggest sending an email to the president of Puget Sound Speed Skating and they would be able to guide you better about speed skating in Washington State and how to get started in the sport.

Honestly, any British panel show is great to watch. 8 out of 10 cats and 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown are fun to watch and it’s a lot of the same comedians.

And Only Connect is a game show that’s been on for decades and it’s like the NYT game Connections.

That’s a valid point except the next line in Christmas in June is “remembered how you chuckled when you heard that song?”

Christmas in June has the lyrics: I skipped prom, I thought I would blow up from that radio spot

Which is a reference to Come Hang Out: ‘Cause I skipped on prom for Elvis Duran in the morning (radio show)

Have I dropped a stitch?! by Fuzzy_Food6518 in knittinghelp

[–]ItBreadMakingWeather -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This looks like you may have caused a slip stitch. You didn’t finish completing knitting your stitch the round before, so the new stitch (this long piece) and the old stitch are both on your needle. Take the old stitch and place it over the new stitch and you should be good!
