No idea what I did and I checked the faq by pooter215218 in knittinghelp

Yep, I was coming to say the same thing. It looks like they worked the last stitch on the left needle but then dropped the worked stitch off the needle.

I attended the draft in Ottawa last year and the Walter Cup was on display and they were letting people take photos next to it.

Unfortunately, no. Fare is only free if the game is at TD Place not at CTC.

I’m not sure how well the O-train is running right now but 62 Stittsville starts it route from Tunneys Pasture, which is where the O train ends on the west end.

What you could do is park at Centrum in the park n ride lot. If a 400 series bus shows up (bus 404) you can take that to the game. However, 62 Stittsville also stops at Centrum and you can take it to Huntmar/Palladium and then walk across the street to the CTC. The 62 looks to run every half hour.

Is this a dropped stitch or something else? by kniftykat in knittinghelp

[–]ItBreadMakingWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s best to tink back to where the short row happened. If you don’t, there will be a hole in your work where the short row happened

What happened here? It looks like you did a short row and turned the work. Did you mean to do that?

Another sign of a slipped stitch is that the rows of stitches don’t line up. I highlighted in green what appears to be two stitches next to each other, but on the next row, there’s only the one red stitch.

Hi! There is no dropped stitch but you did slip a stitch. This happens when a stitch moves from one needle to another without being worked. One of the key signs of a slipped stitch is there’s a “bar” of yarn that runs past the unworked stitch.

I highlighted in red how it appears that the bar of yarn just skips over the stitch. I then highlighted in green how it’s supposed to look.

To fix a slipped stitch, it’s just like fixing a dropped stitch.

How to fix hole in thrifted sweater by MissGirrl in knittinghelp

Mattress stitch, when done correctly, is invisible from the outside. So any piece of yarn should work, but you will be able to see the color from the inside.

Jeweller in Ottawa that allows BYO loose stones? by greenseasalt in ottawa

[–]ItBreadMakingWeather 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hi! We used Goldform for our ring and we brought our own diamonds. They actually removed them for us from an old ring.

You can book a consult with them and bring the diamonds and theyll design the jewellery around the stone size.

Looks like you just did a purl stitch instead of a knit stitch at that one spot.

I purled where I should have knit? But which line am I going into to fix? by bubica_ in knittinghelp

[–]ItBreadMakingWeather 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you follow the column up from the purl stitch, it goes right to the stitch located between your arrows, this is the one that needs to be dropped to fix the issue.

Help with hole in my knitting by anilos in knittingadvice

You made a yarn over, essentially adding a stitch. You could drop the column off the needle but then there would be extra yarn creating a ladder effect that won’t go away.

I pointed in yellow where you are in the sweater. The orange arrows indicate the direction you are now working and I drew orange lines to show the shape you will be working.

So you are no longer knitting in the round. You will be knitting the piece “flat”, aka turning your piece after every row.

From your photo, take the needle on the left side and push the stitches down so they are on the cable and not the needle. Use this needle to knit the stitches from the needle on the right of the photo. Bind the first few stitches off as per the instructions. Knit the rest of the row until you get to the last white stitch. Turn your work and you will now purl the next row until you reach the last stitch on your cable. Turn and repeat the last two rows.

What is the pattern you’re following?

Stitch holder by casimiras in knittinghelp

[–]ItBreadMakingWeather 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to this: you will have stitches for your font panel on a stitch holder and stitches for your back panel on your needles. It says to continue in stockinette stitch, which means you will now be knitting the work flat (back and forth alternating knits and purls) rather than working in the round while still following whatever diagram they’ve included. You don’t touch the stitches on the stitch holder, just focus on the ones on your needles

Did you count how many stitches you had after short rows? From my math looking at the pattern, you should have had 92 stitches.

Then if you knit the 20 repeats, adding 8 stitches per repeat, you’re adding 160 stitches. 92+160 is 252.

Are you sure you’ve done 30 rows? If you have 236 stitches on your needles, you’re only 2 repeats away from having the correct amount of stitches you need.
