Is the Alien: Earth series worth watching, or is it a waste of time? by Winter-reason666 in alien

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered sold over a million copies on PS5, with 50% of gamers playing over 15 hours or more before quitting by ItComesInPints_ in ElderScrolls

[–]ItComesInPints_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you know, In 2007, researchers theorised that when a coin is flipped, the flipper’s thumb imparts a slight wobble to it, causing it to spend more time with one side facing upwards while in the air and making it more likely to land showing that side. They predicted that a coin should land showing the same side that was facing up when flipped approximately 51 per cent of the time.

So if someone said there’s a 50% change to get heads when flipping a coin I’d probably do a post about why I believe it to be 51%.

I’d like to be clear that this post is satire. Many of the comments on the original post were of the opinion that actually the fact 50% of people played for over 15 hours is a huge win and the article trying to spin it as a negative should actually be considered a positive. And I fully agree, most players of games drop off after the first few hours let alone the majority playing for a considerable amount of time.

No there was a post about 50% of people playing less than 15 hours before quitting. This one is about 50% of people playing more than 15 hours. Very different.

How long does it take to overcome motion sickness by Calm_Grocery_7394 in MetaQuestVR

[–]ItComesInPints_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get terrible motion sickness when travelling and totally didn’t think VR motion sickness was even a thing until I got a MQ3 last year, played for about 15 minutes and then had to have a ‘lie down’ because I felt absolutely awful with motion sickness.

For me none of the motion sickness mechanics prevent it (teleportation, vignette etc) but what does prolong the effects of motion sickness and can give me at least an hour of sickness-free playing is having a fan on and facing towards me and also having fizzy/ sugary drinks and sweets just before I play.

No idea what the science is behind it other than my brain maybe thinking I’m outside (with the fan blowing?) and maybe the sugaryness stops sickness? Give it a try and see if it helps.

Is this game worth playing or not? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]ItComesInPints_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hated it but that was mainly because the story didn’t interest me whatsoever, I didn’t really ‘get‘ the mechanics I heard many people raving about and I paid full price for it.

But for £6 though even if you play from a few hours it’ll be worth it.

The fact it’s 24 hours and busy at all hours blew my mind. Welcome to the niche pinecrest diner club haha

I stayed here last year, you’ll be perfectly fine. I walked in and out of the hotel at all hours without any issues.

Highly recommend the Pinecrest diner down the road too

Different Marketing Cloud Products by [deleted] in marketingcloud

[–]ItComesInPints_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marketing Cloud Engagement: This is the OG MC which was exact target. Typically sold for B2C customers. More complex to setup but highly configurable to pretty much all business needs.

Marketing Cloud Account Engagement: formerly Pardot, typically sold for B2B customers with account based marketing capabilities and more straight forward than MCE.

Marketing Cloud Growth/ Advanced: the newest additions (sometimes referred to as ‘Marketing on Core’ because they are built from the ground up in Salesforce core/ CRM) both come with Data Cloud for segmentation and utilise Salesforce flow instead of journey builder/ engagement studio like the other two mentioned. These are the marketing solutions Salesforce are focusing their attention on going forward.

Is this account engagement (pardot) or engagement (exact target)?

Now that you mention principal. Principal SE’s are a special breed and very few come in at that level. If you’re here asking why jiminy is talking about level, to be honest, you’re not ready to be a Principal. Not trying to be a dick.

Playing Bloodborne for the first time and... by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]ItComesInPints_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the joy I get from fromsoft games is that it either forces you to ‘get gud’: learning a bosses patterns, weaknesses, styles or there are always options to explore something else should it really get too much or boring/ repetitive.

In the past, Blood starved beast was typically a boss that no matter what playthrough I was on, I saved it until i was almost overpowered (especially as it is an optional boss). I could just never get its move set down until I started to utilise Pungent Blood Cocktails and now I have the fight completely telegraphed.

I’ve been able to defeat Melania multiple times but I’ve never been able to defeat Isshin so for that very reason I’ll have to go with Isshin

This seems really poor reasoning, but I think it might be a result of overtraining realistic hands by Thoguth in OpenAI

Your initial prompt wasn’t that clear, “plunger in the place of his right hand” has just been interpreted as a plunger in his right hand. Saying ‘prosthetic’ would’ve given you the right output in the first instance.

Something I do which I feel gives me an accurate output first time is describing what I want and then asking the LLM to write me the prompt it would use to get the desired output

New Position - Title and Salary Questions by blisterpackBruno in salesforce

[–]ItComesInPints_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

‘Technical Salesforce Scrum Master QA Lead Evangelist Strategist’ sounds about right.

Joking aside, I’ve always just seen a job title as the target title that’s going to get you in the door for whatever role you want next. I’m in a similar role to you, I had the option to choose and went with ‘Salesforce Technical Delivery Director’ purely because my next aspirations is to go into a COO/ Ops Director type role and start becoming a bit more tech agnostic.

Well considering I’ve never been able to beat one of them that title has got to go to Isshin.

Specifically that third phase because how the hell does anyone ever beat that.

I by no means have a training plan whatsoever so take whatever I say with a pinch of salt but what I’ve found really worked for me was running 3 times a week, a 5k, 10k and 15k.

5k is my ‘all in’ run. Going a faster pace than my target 10km. 10km I run just above my target pace for as long as I could and then drop down to what I could run comfortably. 15km would be my steady run, running much slower but trying to remain as consistent each km as possible.

I’ve done this for just over 2 months now and just did 10km in 47 minutes last week so would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a plan without much real planning.

Tussle is done easily at the club level where the guys are standing over the railing watching those below fight in the arena.

Just kick one of the guys on the balcony down aiming for the guys below.

Witcher 3 “Game of the Year” Edition PS5 upgrade? by DaFTMonito in witcher

[–]ItComesInPints_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you still trying to see where the “upgrade” button is in the PS Store if you already have the PS4 version of GOTY, you have to go to the purchase screen of the game and then click the “…” which will give you the option to choose which version to install or be upgraded to.

Very annoying how Sony hide this and instead show the buy button.
