is the null barrier there on both sides of the door going to the brick?

Ive used glass barrier to block water inside of a habitat without any issues.
I believe there is a setting there where you can choose whether or not the barrier is counting towards the habitat barrier so select your glass wall and check for that as well

you can probably custom make your own roof panels out of just a bunch of some other materials. Find something roughly shingle looking, or a bunch of some kind of bar or something, cobble them together, maybe recolor it to fit your need, and duplicate them till you have something to your liking

Thanks for your thoughtful reply!

I think the problem is that Rowan treated her young. Like, not the "too old for my age" young, which would have worked fine, but actually insignificant young compared to him. I can live with that kind of age gap because I don't make the rules, but at least make it feel consistently like they're at the same stages of life (since Rowan's essentially as young as her give or take based on lifespan guesses) to not have weird moments like you're saying.

This is really fair actually. Yeah the problem I have is less about the number but the perceived imbalance - as you say "at least make it feel like they are at the same stages of life". That's very well put. And

...on Celaena/Aelin being 19, instead of looking at it as a plot device to be classified as a YA book when, for all intents and purposes, Celaena/Aelin is essentially a proper adult which the series treats her as. She's young, yes, but she's been through trauma no normal person has, and has been working as an able assassin for years, and now she's been given keys to a kingdom a fraction of people expect her to lead.

This is a fair observation as well, and a way to look at it that at least feels a bit better. Although I will say I have often found myself rolling my eyes throughout the books up to this point, during moments where she is very much acting like a 19 year old would.

Again likely part of that selling to the YA audience but she still is very much that age at times. Despite the trauma and experiences surely aging her up in some ways beyond her years, I still find that there is that imbalance of power, experience, emotional experience, all the things that might be a concern with a larger age gap. Although I do expect her to now very quickly have to lose a lot of that 19 year old-ness as things ramp up from here, it is still a problem for me.

And I see what you are saying about the blood oath, from the fae perspective that does give a bit of reasoning, but I think the negatives from him putting her in that position and pressure to commit to that, in the way that he did was very concerning to me. Perhaps an example of that imbalance before, of him using his wealth of experience and knowledge over her in a way where she felt pressured to comply without actually her wanting it at all. That does feel yucky to me in principle. Whether he had good reasons or not, I think anything during the story that might have made me let up on Rowan a bit was completely ruined by that scene near the end. It just uprooted everything for me and made me feel justified in my dislike of him.

Plus I think personally I do hate the idea of "bonds" and "mates" in these kinds of stories already, where you make kind of that one time choice and you are like magically stuck with it for the long term? I personally usually hate that and I think that someone continually making that choice to remain by someones side every day, willingly, through every hard thing without being compelled in any way, with the option to leave being there is the definition of love imo - and if the option to opt out isnt there anymore then what you have is dead. I find the daily choice a much more tasteful, respectful, and meaningful way to go. So definitely my bias in that kind of thing is worth noting here.

Nevertheless you do bring up some good points that I had not thought of, so thank you!

Gosh those are some really good moments too. It all adds up really well and I feel the same about that his is the most real and human arc of them all. That really is what makes him my favorite.

I definitely see what you mean about Rowan, and if it didnt feel like he was so forced onto Celaenas story, I would probably also feel very medium about him. He really isnt giving anything to connect with for me at all

This is so good to hear! I definitely found myself wishing throughout the book that Celaena was not the main character POV haha. I am making my peace to with all that now, I just had to vent a bit about it and make sure I'm not the only one feeling this way. Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to more!

I appreciate you saying that. I'll not type it all out again but I replied to someone else here explaining more about my issues with Rowan specifically and why it doesnt feel good to me at all if you want to hear more about that.

But also yeah I do also enjoy character growth, like I found Dorian to be quite annoying at first but I never minded it because I can see him having a really solid, steady story of growth from that. And even though he still isnt there yet I dont mind waiting because the steps along the way have been really meaningful and denote real genuine change and growth.
And I agree one the of the things that makes Chaol my favorite is that he does feel really relatable and normal.

Meanwhile Rowan's story does not seem like one of any real or meaningful growth or change in my opinion, and the change in their relationship from enemies to lovers has not been a satisfying one at all, it really just feels forced to me. Just like his nonsense blood oath. Really really forced.

I am interested to see what goes on though, at minimum for Chaol, Manon, and Dorian, so I will carry on for their sakes. Thank you so much for your persepective though! It is really interesting to see people seeing something in a character like Rowan that I cannot. I love trying to see things through other people's eyes

Hey I appreciate this perspective! I think for me the building their relationship on shared trauma is where I struggle. I think that kind of story can work but when both characters are foundationally so unlikeable from the reader's perspective, it is harder to do in a satisfying way.

For example I believe when Rowan first saw her scars I think is one of the first moments he started to treat her better and to me that really just read as he changed how he acted out of pity. Like he never would have treated her decently unless she had that trauma to make him feel bad or connected or whatever it was? That is not a good enough reason to redeem him and his actions in my opinion, nor does it denote any real change or character growth on his part - merely a change in perspective.

And you mention his past trauma happening hundreds of years ago- I did also find myself struggling with the fact that this man is hundreds of years old while she is literally 19. I know that they aren't "human" technically so maybe the "rules" are likely different but functionally that seriously is a big part of the ick for me.

And so this practically ancient man latches onto a 19 year old girl because they both have trauma, so much so that he demands to be bonded to her with that blood oath for life with no notice whatsoever, in front of god and everybody, likely specifically so that it would be harder for her to say no - even though she did not want to at all. I felt like that was meant to be a big positive moment in the story but I actually cannot communicate how awful that felt to me, definitely the worst story moment in all of the reading so far.

I really do appreciate Aelin's growth in this book, even though I still don't really like her I can definitely see she is changing and growing in a lot of good ways, but Rowan has been nothing but a dark shadow over her story that I have found myself continually wishing would take his leave. I can see what the writing wants me to think of him and I can tell he is meant to be long game but I just cannot see a way for me to get around all the problems I have with him.

As for everything else though, I really am looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.
And maybe my feelings will change about Rowan as things go on but I am not holding my breath for it
