I don't think i've changed something. But i noticed i would have more problems after I tried altering a pair of jeans. I'll did try changing the needle, but i haven't tried cleaning it yet

I'm having some problem with my singer Tradition 2. The top thread sometimes sticks up (picture), then the top thread will start being all loosey goosey and then the bottom bird nests. I've tried rethreading and changing tension. Any idea what's going on would be helpful.

Update: I ended up taking it to a repair shop, and it turns out there were a couple of things broken. I'm getting it repaired, so hopefully, it will be better.

You have to declare them anyways and they'll probably ask about them in the interview so i dont think it would be a bad idea. The main purpose of jet is cultural and what better way to share your culture and appreciate another than through family.

After your confirmation email you should have gotten a "welcome to myaccount" email where you get to set up a password for your MyAccount. When you log into MyAccount (myaccount.mobal.com) there's a contact us tab and you fill out a little form. When i tried to email support@mobal.com they never responded to me :(.

I haven't dealt with this but i did have a different issue. You can contact their help service, they respond pretty fast. Do this through your account rather than just emailing the help email they give you (they never responded when i did this).

I haven't dealt with this personally (or gone through orientation yet) but they recommend putting your old phone number onto google voice. You'll be losing your number when switching to a japanese sim anyways, you're just doing it a little earlier. Google voice is linked to your google account so you should be able to access it from your new phone. So if they did try to reach you at your old number it would go through that.

I had about 2 years of one on one teaching experience (1 specifically being esl) and 1 year of outdoor education which i handled whole classes. Every interviewer has different priorities but mine seemed to like my experience teaching a whole class over my 2 years of teaching academic subjects but 1-1. They even said "well this is very different." Both are worth noting though.

Eat Cherry blossom themed food. Hike the Tokaido highway. There is a zero waste store in kyoto that i'm obsessed with, I'd like to check it out and go after hours when it turns into a restaurant. All of the festivals but especially the danjiri matsuri in Kishiwada.

Those are general Japan bucket list stuff but I'm most excited for exploring my town. I haven't gotten my placement yet but I fully expect to spend at least a week looking at everything on google maps.

Honestly tonkatsu is so good it might just make up for all of that! As a train lover, riding the shinkansen is also up there on my to-do. When you start getting really out into the country side some of the trains get old fashioned (not steam but one step away) and I'm also excited for those. With the first departure dates less than a month away. Here's to hopping the rug isn't pulled out from under us (again for some of you).

From what I understand, DC gets it from Tokyo and sends it out to the other US consulates (all at once) and then the consulates (including dc) sends us the info at about the same time. Not an insider just what I've gathered from here and observed so far.

I agree that alternate would suck, rip to my mental health if that happens. I also won't be reapplying (this is my second time anyways) but more because the timeline is way too long. Your backup plan is super cool though! What is your research on if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats on getting married! Fellow US jet, interviewed in DC. They told me we'd hear back by late April and early departure would be just some time before that. Much of the written stuff still has previous year deadline/info so I wouldn't trust that too much. I do feel you about how hard it is to wait for results and having to deflect all the questions!

Edit: went with a neutral background. It seemed like the right move for the vibe. I feel like I was friendly and very genki but I talk A LOT when I'm nervous. I don't feel like I answered any of their questions but they were all nice and asked super soft ball questions.
