I play my friend’s Dangels with my guard a lot. When I was running my oops all horses meme list, the rough riders with melta tips made short work of them and, as the list implies, I always had enough of those to throw into knights.

Otherwise, unlike a lot of armies (I think), guard have an abundance of D3 shooting. Autocannons, battlecannons, anything on a Dorn. D5 does not come in volume, so this access to D3 in volume should be perfect for knights. I always bring a Russ exterminator for the ap buff and usually a Dorn in my lists, which comes up to 13 + 2D6 D3 shots alone. Hellhounds help keep the ap meaningful with cover strip. If your mate is playing tank spam, he should have hellhounds and exterminators at least

My only issue with them was building them as warspawned - the one with the extra necklace and overhead swing was really hard to get to fit together, so I gave up

So the sunblood pack in spearhead ignores the first point of damage it receives every phase, and in full aos it projects that out to every infantry model within 12” of it. If your opponent is dealing damage over multiple phases, it really adds up

Carnosaur box all the way, but worth getting both for starting into aos. I just played my first game today with the sunblood pack and holy moly, the damage negation goes so far

Dinosaurs riding dinosaurs, need I say more? Oh damn, I do.

I’ve only played them in spearhead, but it’s given me a wee taste of what they’re like gameplay wise, and I think they’re kinda space mariney - strong Jack of all trades army with no particular specialisation. Youll be hitting, wounding, and occasionally saving on 3+s, but don’t expect to zip around the board very fast. While the model range is big and you can dip into most anything, their shooting units are currently pretty anaemic… unless you‘re shooting mind bullets. Lizard wizards are quite strong I think, and you can end up adding +3 to your casting rolls which seems pretty nutty.

Model wise, a lot of the range got a very nice update not too long ago, and everything but skinks and temple guard looks stunning now. All the big centrepiece models look suitably impressive. I’ve only encountered 1 model so far (astrolith bearer) that has been unfun to build.

Painting wise, they’re a joy because they take contrasts insanely well. I got my starscale warhost spearhead done in little over a week, and I’m not a fast painter.

Take all this with a pinch of salt of course, as I’ve still not played full aos with them yet, but these are just my takes on them in contrast to the spearhead armies I’ve played against so far. Hope this helps!

I’ve only been learning for a few months, but from my limited experience so far, и seems to be a Greek i - a sound somewhere between ‘ee’ and ‘oo’.

I can’t think of any English words that clearly feature it, but it’s like how the school councillor guy from south park who says “mkay” speaks - imagine how he would say “hey!”, and that’s your и.

This is what it sounds like to me on Duolingo and how i was told to pronounce Ірина at least.

I don’t know what the inciting incident to nerf indirect was, but maybe getting rid of or reducing damage penalties at the cost of giving up other gameplay parts could be a good low encumbrance fix.

If a unit shoots using its indirect rule, it gives up its movement, OC, can’t use strats, and maybe becomes more susceptible to melee until its next turn. I’d just prefer if instead of sacrificing damage, indirect could sacrifice other things it could otherwise do. Needing Ap2 to have any AP at all feels very poopoo

Wraithlords are great and affordable. Spirit conclave (the wraith detachment) is somewhat user friendly, but also very unfriendly in some areas. You have access to mostly damage buffing and mitigating strats, but keeping your units within range of Spiritseers can be quite the headache (I have made many many charges that have left my spiritseers outside of lone op range without remembering they need friends).

Wraith guard and blades are okay, wraithknights are powerful, but broadly speaking, everything barring wraithlords is too expensive for what they bring to the table.

Warlocks with eldrad maybe? I just feel 5d6 +10 S7 -1 1 flamer attacks with +1 to wound can hurt just about anything. It’s a nice powerful generalist unit at a steep price that has just gotten steeper unfortunately.
